I keep seeing the national weather reports as to how hot it is throughout the US. How hot is it where you are? What are you doing to cool off -- without running up your electric bill??
It's hot out there!

It's much better than it's been this month. Our average for the month so far is over 90 degrees but today is 83 with about 90% humidity. It's threatening rain all day. But we'll see 90s again tomorrow.
As for keeping cool, let's just say I think the next electric bill will go on the home equity line of credit. -
In the Pacific NW we went from 3 days of record breaking highs back to the 60's and 70's. Last year was our best year for tomatoes ever. This year not starting very well.

It's cooler this week than it was a few days ago, but still in the low 90's. The humidity is high, too, so that makes it feel even hotter. To stay cool, I only go out in the early morning or late evening. And I drink lots of sweet iced tea. :)

It's in the 90's here, and all I can do is suffer. My air conditioning does work; it blows the circuit breaker, and I have no money to get it fixed. I get by with a fan.

Today's high are around 95 I think, with heat weather warnings that the "feel like" temp may reach around 105-110. The humidity is 90-10%, so you merely have to look out the window and your clothes stick to you!
Cooling off without using up electric? We're not even trying. We've got the central air set to 68 and it's keeping it around 73. We have three different people here with medical issues that heat will aggravate, perhaps intensely in some cases, so it's cheaper to pay extra for electric in the big picture.
Here's what it says: * TEMPERATURE: HEAT INDICES WILL EXCEED 105 DEGREES AGAIN TODAY...AND WILL LOCALLY EXCEED 110 DEGREES. -

In Miami, it's 88 right now and partly cloudy. The highs for this coming weekend are supposed to go up to only 91, so the weekend looks promising.
It was really warm when we were in Madrid. The nice is that it goes down to the low 60's at night, so the evening were very enjoyable. -
We've been in the mid-90's all week. We got some mid-80's for a couple of days last week because of a front that moved through... it was a very welcome change. Tomorrow will be 90, but then mid-80's as another front comes through. Looks like we're in for a lot of thunder boomers.

Upper 90's for the good folks here in Alabama--the Heart of Dixie!!!

Yeah, Blackbird...we've been lucky. The last two summers have been below normal temps (remember last year, we had two nights in August with temps in the high 50's!).
We were due for a scorcher.
