Um...what is the right thing? Are we forgeting that it was we who helped bring Saddam to power and kept him there? Are we forgeting that it was we who radicalized the Iranians by overthrowing their chosen government and installing a hated puppet regime by using terrorism? Is bringing dictators to power and partnering up with them the right thing to do? Is using false flag terrorism to overthrow sovereign nations the right thing? Are we forgeting that it was we who empowered and trained "Al Qeada" and created the Taliban with the help of the Pakistani ISI?
That's been our foreign policy for decades doesn't matter if it was the current resident the former resident the former former resident or the one before that. We've been radicalizing factions arming training and playing one against the other since WW2 is that the right thing? And why do we do it? So bananas have a higher market value! So "we" can control the oil and natural gas that other nations dare say is theirs just because it's in their ground.
Shouldn't there be a process for determining whether lies were spoken and were the foundations for the actions of one branch of government, other than the court of public opinion ?
Preferably yes but when all three branches of government are corrupt you can't expect them to hold themselves accountable. They'll let us debate and dissent until the next event whether real or contrived then we'll really understand what habeas corpus meant.
Until election reform is brought about, requiring a majority to win an elector, we do only have two choices.
A vote for a third party candidate is a vote for one of the other two.
Opinions, opinions, opinions.
I like mine better than yours.
Regardless of whether or not this Iraqi war is legal or not might just be a mute point after the Democrats win the White House in 2008.
The war will end then for sure!
So, I take it you are content to wait around voting for evil until the government reforms itself? It's our duty to reform the government, but as long as we think our only choices are the ones 'given' us it isn't going to happen.
The democrats are controlled by the same people the republicans are Terry. They'll just give different excuses as to why the "war" must continue or expand. All the democratic candidates now running for the WH have already sworn fidelity to AIPAC and if they want contributions from the military industrial complex and their powerful lobbies like the ATC they'll either toe the line or lose their job.
