I have never read anything by her or heard her speak until today, when browsing some blogs I like to read from time to time I came across this chapel session at Dallas Theological Seminary.
God really touched my heart with her testimony of coming to a biblical understanding of why suffering happens to God´s children. Its worth listening to the whole thing if you have them time. You will be blessed.
Personally I loved the line her pastor gave her: "God permits that which He hates to accomplish that which He loves."

LOL - Wonder if we read the same blog because I just read that too. LOL
God bless her. -
one of my favorite people on the planet. Her autobiography "Joni" (written years and years ago) profoundly impacted me.

I really admire her. One of my first dates with my hubby was to see her movie. I'd like to see it again!
rbell--I have her book, too. Wonderful, isn't it? -

A human demonstration of one dive in a lake creating a bad situation only to be overcome by faith in God. Seems I read about her back in the 60's.
Cheers,

My mother has one of her original paintings (she is a quadraplegic--she paints with a brush in her mouth!). It's unbelievable. -
She has had a big impact on me too. Her movie in which she went through the whole story again was quite special.I have friends on both coasts who know her personally. Many have been brought to a saving faith through her. Many others, already regenerate, have been encouraged in deeper ways from her godly example.
