Sometimes. I don't see this as a commandment in the bible. I know many people, including our Lord, did give thanks and there is certainly nothing wrong with it, but it is not a binding regulation we have to obey.
I was questioned one time when I started eating a meal and in jest I told the person I once thanked God for all the food I was every going to eat, so I was covered. -
I try not to pray out of OBLIGATION but because I am sincerely grateful for the meal that God has certainly provided.

It's a wise habit imho. I also make it a point not to get caught up on my prayer life when doing so. ;)
We try to model this for our children. It will make a lasting impact, we hope, as it did on Mrs PJ and I. -
Amen, SaggyWoman (and others)! My prayers are so automatic (in my doing them, not in the sense of I don't think about them) that I pray at every meal. On one occasion, some strangers walked over in a fast-food Chinese place and asked if I had just prayed. When I answered yes, they said that was so cool, and wished more people would say prayers at meals. They then did pray for their meals!
I do not pray to be seen or out of "obligation", but because I truly want to thank my Father for what He has provided, at every opportunity.

It seems strange to me to eat without praying first. If I'm eating out with other people who are not Christians or whom I don't know well, I close my eyes and say a quick silent prayer of thanks. It just seems wrong to eat without doing it. Depending on the situation and who the people are, I might even ask if it's okay for me to pray out loud if they don't mind. No one has ever said no.

Can I taste it first to see if I am truly thankful for it? LOL
I would really hate to lie to the Lord!
I say thanks most of the time.. unless it's a quick bite, snack, etc... -

I thank God for everything I eat-even it's just a brownie. If not for Him, I wouldn't have it.

I give thanks usually at all meals at home, and when out to eat, usually with a group from church. If there is any time I do not, it is usually eating alone.
