Wait, does ANYTHING that this government says go?
Do you obey any and all things that the government says to do?
What if it violates the constitution?
WHat if is violates the Bible?
I don't know anything about Hovind so I am not here to defend or condemn him.
I DID know Greg Dixon and he WAS up to shenanigans as you put it. But the errors of Dixon and or Hovind in no way excuse blind obedience to a God hating government such as we have.

Well, our fundamental difference is that you believe in Rex Lex, whereas I believe in Lex Rex.
We both seem to believe that God is the ultimate lawgiver though.
BTW, I think both nominees were TERRIBLE justices.
WHen you say your religion will not interfere, then your true god is precedent etc. -
See this thread:

I was referring to the multiple times that people have invoked things like "God ordained this government so we should do whatever they say" it has been said a few times.
Things like "Obey every ordinance of man etc.
BUt what do we do when the officer of the law does not obey the law?
The law is NOT whatever a judge says it is. -
I Just read that thread. While I am glad that you said what you said and do agree with you, I don't see how you and others don't stand on a much more important issue like with Roy Moore etc.
THe Hovind case is more debatable.
With Moore is was a case of honoring the first commandment.
If you stand against sodomy, drunkenness, abortion and every other sin except the violation of the first commandment, what have you gained? -
I don't want to go back over old ground on the Moore case.
You charge of blind obedience and worshiping the state are simply untrue, no one here says obey the state when it conflicts with the word of God. -
And Jesus obeyed in the area of taxation.
Hovind didn't. -
But at the end of the day, those two were better than what Kerry would have put up. And that was the point. -
-
So are you saying courts make law then?
If you believe that then you must admit that we live in a form of dictatorship.
And you believe in Rex Lex, or at least in this case it is the judge that is the law.
Also, to say Jesus obeyed in the area of taxation, you need to go back and read that a little better.
Jesus said to pay tribute to whom it is due and I fully agree.
But taxes are not a black and white issue. It isn't either pay them or don't pay them.
As far as Hovind is concerned, Iam not sure what all he did or did not do.
Gideon was a tax protester in essence.
Solomon taxed the people and was blessed in many ways.
Tell me this:
If a government demands by force a tax that does not belong to it, has it stolen? -
