I just finished Charasmatic chaos by John MacArthur (great book), and was reading soem quotes by Beny Hinn such as:
“Those who put us down are a bunch of morons. ... You know, I’ve looked for one verse in the Bible, I just can’t seem to find it. One verse that says, ‘If you don’t like ’em, kill ’em.’ I really wish I could find it. ... Sometimes I wish God would give me a Holy Ghost machine gun — I blow your head off!” (Benny Hinn on TBN’s “Praise-A-Thon,” April 1990, emphasis added).
These comments are shocking, and most definitly un-Christian, yet when you look through the history of the church you find great men of God actually going and having people killed who they felt were heritics (John Calivn did this at least once) or were Jewish (Martin Luther). If we are to tell if a person is Christian by their fruits does not this show that these people had large spiratural problems? How can Benny hinn be condemmed for such comments, and yet Luther and Calvin who did the act are considered great Christians?

Two wrongs don't make a right. Calvin and Luther were good men but they wern't right on everything.
If I had to make a decision about Hinn, I would say that I don't believe that he is saved. -
Every tree has an apple or two with a worm in it.
Can anyone give me evidence that calvin murdered or had some one murdered? Wouldn't that prove the love of God was not in him? And Luther?
But do be careful about "fruit inspecting", especially before the tree that produces that fruit is matured. calvin. luther , and hinn I would say have matured. -
Calvin was a man of his time as were many others who persecuted in the name of the Reformation (like the Church of England ITNC :D ;) .
Here are a couple of related articles:

One of Servetus few redeeming qualities was that he was willing to go to martyrdom for what he believed... albeit heretical. However, it would seem that he almost pursued that end. -
About 10 years ago a group that keeps track of
cults (don't remember the name) put out an audio
tape with a bunch of Hinn's quotes along with some others.
I remember the "holy ghost machine gun" one very well. He had a few other jaw droppers.
They were also saying Walter Martin (chrisitian fellow who wrote Kingdom of the Cults ) was slain by God because he made some disparaging statements about them (Hinn and others).

There were two other outragous ones by Hinn I found:
“Be careful! Your little ones may suffer because of your stupidity. Now I’m pointing my finger today, with the mighty power of God on me, and I speak. ... And your children will suffer. If you care for your kids, stop attacking Benny Hinn” (Benny Hinn at the World Charismatic Conference, Aug. 7, 1992).
“I place a curse on every man and every woman that would stretch his hand against this anointing. I curse that man who dares to speak a word against this ministry” (Benny Hinn at his July 1999 Denver Miracle Crusade as shown on the Praise the Lord show, Sept. 10, 1999).
I've heard the argument that they were men of their times before, and I don't really like it. It can be used to justify too many things. The other way I have seen to explain things like this is that they were overzealous for God, but that again seems to leave the door open to a lot.
I do like the thought that every fruit has a worm in it :D

This is the same group that puts out "The Door" magazine. http://www.thedoormagazine.com
They have dozens of videos and books, including "The Confusing World of Benny Hinn", which every Christian should read, and, "The Gospel of Greed", an expose of Bob Tilton.
You might remember the 20/20 show several years ago which busted Bob Tilton, W.V. Grant and Larry Lea for all sorts of fraudulent tactics. Well, these are the guys who did that.
They're also the ones who exposed Peter Poppoff as a fraud.
In addition, many people might remember them from "The Daily Show". They had a weekly segment called "Godstuff".
The magazine/ministry also features the host of TNT's late, lamented "Monstervision" and theologian, Joe Bob Briggs.
Here's a link where you can find thei books and videos.

From a news report:
March 7, 2000
Televangelist Benny Hinn’s wife, Suzanne Hinn was busted on December 4, 1998 for shoplifting in a department store in South Africa. Benny
Hinn’s ministry denied a story published in the Cape Times.
Suzanne Hinn made quite a splash on a recent GodStuff segment of Comedy Central’s, The Daily Show, when they aired a clip of her outlandish behavior at the Hinn’s home church, Orlando Christian Center. The GodStuff segment opens with Suzanne shouting, “If your engines aren’t revved up, then you need a holy ghost enema right up your rear end!” She is later shown making gestures like a charging bull, charging across the platform back and forth and then sliding on her belly across the floor. Comedy Central was sent a threatening letter by Benny Hinn’s attorneys who backed down after being brushed off by the Daily Show’s attorneys. -
How about posting a credible link? That's standard operating procedure around here if you're going to post stuff you didn't author. Unless it's more than just a one-liner, it's usually considered plagarism.
I, for one, never watch ungodly Comedy Central. Can't imagine a Christian would get too much edification from it. -
Here's a link of a guy who follows cults and does exposes on just about everyone. Do take him with a grain of salt. He picks apart EVERYBODY.
Biblical Discernment Ministries
Now don't attack me if one of your favorites is picked apart. I warned you. LOL
Another good place to check is here. This is a BAPTIST web page but the name is misleading.

Comedy Central didn't make this up...Suzanne Hinn made this statement in her CHURCH! Someone got it on tape, which CC merely replayed.
BTW, do not accuse me of plagiarism. I never said I wrote the story. -
I'm not accusing you, Colorado. I'm just stating you are supposed to cite / link your sources. You can inquire of other moderators if you like or the webmaster if you don't believe me.

The biblical discernment ministries guy basically thinks everyone but him, Jesus, and maybe a couple of the Apostles are heretics.
He discredits himself by being shrill about everyone with a recognized name. I don't think he writes on anyone who he has "biblically discerned" to be OK. -
G'day Bugman Thankfully a quick web-search will show a whole big bunch of spectacular prophecies by Mr Hinn that spectacularly did not come to pass ;) :D The ones you quoted above are just more of the same from a false prophet...Or maybe God is working through hackers to produce virii to destroy all the web sites that 'dare to touch the Lord's anointed...' :D
I'll get back to you on main point when have had a bit more of a think about it
