In view of Scott Emerson Clark's proposal, I ask you to vote in this poll. We all know the common practice of excommunication by the catholic church and the rights excercized by Baptists to exclude others from their fellowship. We also know how it is found in the rules to go to the PM method of grinding axes with other members.
The first question is directly pertaining to the forum section, the 2nd is your opportuniy to voice your concerns about his proposal.
Thank You and all responses will be considered.

Hey brother,
Sorry, but I really don't understand your poll.
Thanks,
Bartholomew -
Shuning this poll I can't understand.
-
QS,
I usually understand you....at least I think I do....but this one has me completely lost. I don't have a clue what you are asking or even what the answers are saying.
Sorry.... -
Sorry everyone is having a hard time understanding, but if that's true then how did the 4 people know how to vote?
The results so far are expected except for one and that is self explanatory.
Read the questions again, then look closely at the answers, there really is only one correct choice for each question. -
are curious and will give some
answer just so they can read the
results.
Seperating myself from the excommunication
(i.e. shunning the shun topic ) -
Well I can't understand it either. I've read it over and over.
I'll give you MY opinion out in the open.
I like my New King James Version. I think KJVO's are misled. I would not ban anyone based on the version they use but I would shun them for using ugly words or professing that those who disagree with them are not saved or can't be saved using another version. That's putting God in a box and disputes the power of the Holy Spirit to use whatever is available. I've also said it before.... what about those present at Pentacost? That was a couple of years (pun intended) before King James commissioned the Bible for English speaking man. In fact, saying only the KJV is God's word is pretty much saying God is prejudiced towards white, English speaking persons. Hmmmm???? Not MY God! MY Bible says God is not a respecter of persons.
Ever wonder what language we'll speak in heaven? I seriously doubt it will be based on some King of England! We'll sing a NEW SONG and maybe in a new language of love that we've never heard before.

Diane? I thought you said you read it over and over agian and still didn't understand? I may not agree with you on everything you have posted, and I don't, but it seems somewhere along the tracks your train made it to the station.

The first question is, The position we atke on the KJB, or on the MV's, is this a reason to separate or excommunictae from other believers?
I apologize for the way the qeustion reads, I was under the impression only a limited amount of space was allowed for the question and I cut it as short so it would fit the space.
The possible answers began with KJVO as being the KJB is the Only Bible, there is no other. This choice indicates a "yes" answer and reason to separate and excommunictae those in disagreement.
The second possible answer like wise a "yes" because of the differences between the AV 1611 KJB and the MV's being reason.
The third answer, well I can't give that away just yet. Just that the answer is no.
The fourth answer would be the MV advocates saying the KJVO "camp" propigate false doctrine and they must separate from all false teachings thereby excommunicating anyone who holds to the KJB advocating the MV's are not the Bible. This answer would be a yes, to separate and excomunicate.
The fifth answer would be a "no" and even though in line with avoiding catholic policies would be correct, except that even for one to consider anything of the like to separate and excommunicate over this is silly.
And on the part of the second question, and I can't believe my eyes, 2 have already voted their opinion would over-ride the Bible Doctrine of Brotherly Love.
I hope this will clear up any questions regarding the poll.
Thanks to everyone who has voted, but what about the comments? I really would like to see why those voted the way they have. And just for the record they could retract if necessary due to the subject matter being misunderstood, I apologize again,I was in a hurry to leave when I laid out the poll. -

Back again cuz I ran into a problem with the first question....
First of all, even though I use an MV primarily, I am not a MV ADVOCATE. Secondly, while I don't think someone who is KJVO should be excommunicated from a church (unless they were stirring up lots of trouble over the issue), I would not become a member of a church that was KJVO if as church policy they advocated that MV's are not the Bible because I do not share that conviction and could not in good conscience agree with that.
But hey, as far as being friends goes, I have been friends with someone who would not allow her children to call me "Sister" (how her children were taught to address all their adult brothers and sisters in Christ) because I was not KJVO.
So, how would you suggest I respond to the first question? -
I hope this helps. I would call "her" Sister and make all my children call her Sister, Ma'am, Miss, all just to spite "her". Really though, you already gave your answer. Was that vague enough for you? ;) whoops! I mean I keep forgetting you're a lady.

Read through the poll again and decided it not worth my time to try to decipher it. QS, I'd suggest we scrap this and you work on another.
There IS a very tight word limit on the questions and answers, so they should be crafted with great care.
I've made a hundred polls and they take time to be sure that a person unfamiliar with what you are saying has enough information. And that the choices are clear.
BTW, this is a Baptist poll, so there is no ONE correct answer. IF there are 3 Baptists taking it, there will be 4 answers! -
i reckin u al wil half too ad me two the dummie grup - i caint figger the pole ot eider :rolleyes:
(I did vote just so I could see the results)

Sorry guys, I thought the right answer was a little too obvious. I don't mean that in a negative way, I just thought we all are geared towards brotherly love and reconciliation vs hating one another separating and excommunicating.
Most seemed to get it by the way they voted.
I believe it doesn't matter what the other answers were, the important thing is we realize everyone isn't the same and we come across to others different.
There was a time when I almost let my anger and indiffwerence cause me to leave this ,uh, LIBERAL board, but then I thought what a blessed opportunity.
There was one imparticular member I have never seen post but one time that asked me not to leave BB because I had been such a help to him, that settled it, as long as one here gets help, I stay.
You see, why the [ractice of excommunication/shunning is quite effective, remember, when you're the one who is on the receiving end, it really isn't as "glorious" a practice as you thought before. On the part of separation, well, that is necessary only to avoid sin, not sinners, not to elevate yourself to some higheer/ more spiritual plateau.
I know a young man of 19. His family is one of these Bill Gothardites that has reached this "plateau". Now I don't have anything against Brother Gothard or his teachings, they are wonderful. But what has happened , these people have promoted themselves to be more spiritual than others, but all the while they became more and more standoffish and wicked in their own conceits. The fellow I have known for 11 years now snubs his nose at me and my family. I don't think he's spiritual at all, snobbish, yes.
The mother of this young man tells us so often how much she loves us, but passes right by our house about once a month to get her hair done by a Pentecostal lady at that, and never stops in for any reason. This has been going on for 71/2 years, The lady did stop by once when my third child was born. Yet she has called more than once asking my wife to go to diferent places to do this and do that for her.
Oh, well, I still believe we can have revival. God's still on the Throne and unity of the brethren is still like the precious ointment that flowed down the beard of Aaron, to the paps, then the girdle.
I guess I'm just not a hateful person, are you?
God Bless, and have a wonderful life,
Brother Ricky -
This is a new choir song we learned tonight. Our revival beginning March 1 with Dr. Sammy Allen is coming, see ya there if you can make it.
It’s Time
Verse 1:
Does the burden you carry have you weighted to the ground?
Desperate for mercy but none can be found;
There’s an answer coming to you, hear it breaking thru the clouds;
Your appointment for deliverance is right about now!
Chorus:
It’s time for a miracle, time for revival,
Time for the Church to believe what we say;
Time for restoration and old time salvation,
Let the devil be advised, God says it’s time!
Verse 2:
For too long the Church has been sleeping on the job,
Unaware of the hurting of those that Satan has robbed;
If we would bind up the wounded and love the outcast in the crowd
We’d see renewal and revival right now
Chorus:
It’s time for a miracle, time for revival,
Time for the Church to believe what we say;
Time for restoration and old time salvation,
Let the devil be advised, God says it’s time!

Nope, I don't think Dr. Allen is really associated with Sword affiliations, I could be wrong now I think about it, they did offer him honourary membership. He probably can quote the most scripture as any man I know except maybe Bro. Alfred Biddle, they call Bro. Biddle the
"Walking Bible". The man can quote nearly the whole New Testament word for word, w/o a miss, of course from the AV 1611 KJB. -
