Does it have to be 1,2 or 3?
There's lots of reasons why each side believes various interpretations, both sides believe they are following what the bible teaches and affirms to be true.
I respect those that hold to historical confessions, although for me, its not something I really care about, the bible is present and available now just the same as the Lord is, there's no reason to have a one or the other position.
I wasn't taught Calvinism.
I read God's Word.
I believed what I read.
I came to the same conclusions that I later learned was generally called "Calvinism".
When I find something in scripture that is contrary to my understanding, I seek to understand it in the context that it was written and reconcile what I know to be true from other passages.
I change my mind and agree with scripture.
The more I study, the more the doctrines of grace are affirmed again and again in scripture.
So, why doesn't every Christian agree concerning the doctrines of grace?....
I don't know, but I pray they'll....just keep studying with an open mind....
Translation: I have no idea how to answer this question so I'll make demeaning comments, laugh at him and defer to the Holy Spirit, then hope no one will notice my diversion techniques.
