It's a right of passage for all poor Greek students when they must purchase BAGD.

Sticker shock doesn't even begin to describe it.

Although, the dramatic loss of weight in my wallet was balanced by the incredible weight of the lexicon!

Try downloading SeedMaster, an oldie but goodie freeware Bible program. (Copyright 1991 to 1995, but works on my Windows XT.) One advantage it has is that at a click you can look up words with the Strongs definitions (or Thayer's in one particular SeedMaster version). You can also look up the tense of verbs with one click, and then another click will tell you what that particular grammatical construction means. Very handy!

    Here's one source: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Parthenon/4447/

I've used seedmaster since before it became Bible Companion and went belly up.

For a quick search I still prefer it to the others. Didn't know it was still available. I upgraded to Bible Companion and it has a couple of quirks in it that bug me, will go get the older version.

The site www.studylight.org has a KJV and NASB with Strong's concordance numbers that are linked to Thayer's and Smith's for the NT Greek and BDB (Brown Driver Briggs) for the OT Hebrew. Just search for the verse click on the "Hebrew" or "Greek" and click on the word you want to look up. Easy as pie ... and no need to download anything or flip through massive books.
