Actually, at your age the early '90 was the end of it. It started back in the mid '80's. Be glad you missed most of it. I used to have one in high school... (of course it looked good on me, though:thumbs: )

I don't think a mullet could look good on anyone :tongue3: *sorry!* I still remember a few of the really wierd things from the early 90's!
-
well i guess to your standards i look half feminine... lol. cause my hair covers my ears.
ands its gonna stay that way - if not longer! :D -
 well some guys can do that without looking feminine, some can't. *shrugs*

What scripture , given as an instruction to us, gives the standard for hair length, as to what is considered long or short?
-
As Long As You Look Like A Man
"short" and "long" are very subjective terms.
I think that we should follow what the Bible tells us: "short" hair on men and "long" hair on women. From what I read, we don't need to be bald, but we can't have hair that resembles a woman's either.
I say, as long as your hairdo looks like a man you will be fine. Paul doesn't contend on this too much. It's not that big of an issue. -
So no barrettes, bows, or curlers, guys!!!
You may, however, wear a wreath--or whatever that thingy was that the Romans used to wear on their heads.

Here's an almost fool-proof test to see whether your hair is too long or too short--ask someone you know who's not a Christian. "Unsaved people don't know exactly what Christians are supposed to be like, but they sure know what we're NOT supposed to be like."

Legalism...BAH! HUMBUG!

To quote the great Bob Uecker, "Juuuuuust a bit outside." -
Long hair on men - what's the big deal
Christian and Tattoos - don't see anything wrong with it
Beer - Jesus drank wine
Lottery - The money goes to a good cause
Gambling - It's just fun
Sexual Preference - "God don't make no junk"
Cursing - don't think Christians should curse
Adultery - recognize this is a no-no for Christians
Loosing Temper - think Christians should be peace loving
So if I it was up to my lost co-workers, I'd have long hair, a tattoo of "mom" on my shoulder. I'd have a few beers at the bowling alley after work, make a friendly wager on a few frames. We'd all get some lottery tickets on the way home and I'd go home to my wife. -

Aaahhh...the "spindly comb-over". Ranks ahead of the mullet, the bee-hive, the super afro and the bowl cut!

Webdog, my whole opinion of you just changed! hehe
OK, I've read most of this whole thread now. Besides noting that the haircuts produced by our own local rebel, rbell are totally icky, length is subjective. When I posted the pix of my wedding that I'd just scanned someone said that Ron had a Beatles hair cut. Well, yeah! That's pretty much what it looked like, but it wasn't out of line for the time. Now it would be long. Someone else mentioned rebellion, but long hair isn't necessarily rebellious. I'm thinking here about the time my youngest asked if he could get an earring and I said yes. He was accused by another adult of being rebellious, but he had Ron's and my permission. He outgrew it really quickly too.
Nicholas -- grow your hair a bit. You probably won't like it anyway. Short hair is soooo much easier :tongue3: -
16 pages and what do we get? Not one scripture reference that tell us what length of hair is to long for a man - just a whole lot of tradition and if I think the length is to long then you are not obeying the commands of God.
As Roby put it, legalism - bah humbug.
