While I am not a supporter of Ron Paul, (not yet) I totally agree with his statements in this vodeo.

Lying is neither patriotic nor "Christian." This includes sanctioning "under cover" police operations in which police officers are paid to lie to the general public.

Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. -
According to Machiavelli politicians have an obligation to lie to the public because the public isn't smart enough to comprehend the truth.
Besides if politicians did tell us the truth most of them would be out of a job, or in prison.
Today's politicians are expected to lie for their corporate masters if they want to keep their government job and stay on their master's "good" side. -
Sidebar: Little-known fact. Machiavelli had previously published papers against dictator-like leaders and such practices, and never intended for his book to be used as a guideline for dictators. It was actually meant to be satire regarding the Mafioso that had moved into the area where he lived, and had broken both his arms for the papers he had published denouncing their dictator-like tactics.

>Involved in that much in your career?
No. Not since I completed my probation. Anyway, I can't lie with a straight face. -
Misleading God's enemies to protect innocent life is a good work. -

You would have loved the Spanish Inquisition!
