Viet Nam de ja vu???
...The way we are fighting the radical Islamists is reminiscent of Viet Nam. A war can't be fought from the Pentigon. And Rules of Engagement are a death sentence for patriotic men and women. An enemy country has to be just that. We shouldn't have to get permission before we can shoot the enemy, or defend ourselves. And we don't need to have safe zones. Those zones are where the enemies run when they are chased.

Lets not forget that the OP is about GySgt Harry Berres, USMC.
And as I stated before - since he is going to retire ( and receiving over $1000 a month tax free) it is easy to "make a statement"
I want to hear from a GI with 18 years who will ETS.
Now that would be a statement.
BTW, that did happen once.
A Navy Sailor had 20 years - his wife was divorcing him (and marry another Sailor).
She was going to get 50% of his pension.
He said hogwash - and ETS.
Yes, he bit off his nose to spite his face - but he was not going to allow his cheating ex to get half of his money.
Now THAT is a statement!.
This happen in the late '70s or early '80's.
If anyone can find a link - I would a appreciate it.
