Just read today that in a red state, can’t remember which one, they were trying to pass legislation to exempt 65 & over from property tax so that seniors couldn’t be driven from their homes due to no longer being able to afford their property tax. In some cases it was said that the property taxes were now more than the people had originally paid for their house. Most all of the property tax goes to support the public schools which the older people have had no vested interest in for a long time. This is a no brainer in my opinion, & should be nation wide. Thanks for posting this!
