Michelle Obama Spent 42 Days on Vacation this Past Year

First Lady Michelle Obama over the last year has spent a total of 42 days on vacation, or a little more than one out of every nine days, according to a White House Dossier analysis of her travel.

Her vacations, the cost of which are mostly borne by taxpayers, include trips to Panama City, Fla., Martha’s Vineyard, Hawaii, South Africa, Latin America, Vail, Colo., and her visit this week to her brother in Corvallis, Ore.

The total does not include a nine day sojourn in Martha’s Vineyard that the Obamas will enjoy this month. Nor does it include a trip she made to Ireland and Great Britain in May, which I’m counting as official travel.

come on Carpro, its gotta be extremely exhausting being the Presidents wife, living in the White House & being waited on hand & foot LOL!

What ever happened to going to Camp David...shakes head. They use the 'too high an expense' for them not going to church on Sunday morning.

So much for the "Let Them Eat Cake" crowd.

Just please don't send her to Martha's Vineyard until Monday. We should be gone then!

Honestly, wherever she goes, it costs money. I don't really care much about how many days she's been on vacation. I have bigger fish to fry - like where do we sail to after the Vineyard?

So, she and her girls got out of the White House fish bowl for 42 days. Yes, alot of her expenses were taxpayer paid. But, then a good percentage of the expense is the cost of the First Family's security.

.....We're just concerned about the Obamas' taking as much from this four-year reign as they can possibly get. They've already stood by and watched as Wall Street and big business gutted our economy. And the two of them are well on the way to gut our rich American tradition with their clueless, deer-in-the-headlight-stare. On top of this, they act like spoiled rich children trying to squeeze as much out of the plate before them as they can possibly get. And it's being done on the taxpayer's dime.

For your information, I don't believe I'm a bit jealous of the POTUS and First Lady enjoying the perks of the job. What I am opposed to is their taking advantage of what they have been given (by the voters), while a multitude of good American people are suffering from unemployment, underemployment, foreclosures, and just plain hopelessness and despair.

This POTUS seems to be blind to what is going on in this country, as he is clueless in how to address and fix the mess, you so freely blame on Bush.

So to cut to the chase, I'm willing to admit that Bush is to blame for at least a good portion of this economic mess. However, come on, it's been three years now, and what has the great Barry done to put even a slight "dent" in the mess this nation is in?

Even if history proves that Bush is completely at fault, Obama will be remembered for being a totally useless national leader and figurehead. If he's not on vacation, he's raising campaign funds and seeking votes for 2012. Sure he's pushed several unpopular things through an early agenda, but, that is about all he's done?

Like an ostrich, his long neck and head is buried so deep in the sands of debt, he'll never see his own failure in putting a stop to in the continuation of this downward spiral.

I've been honest in my view of who is at fault for this economic mess, so how about you being just as honest in shaking a finger, or two, from your skinny little stick person figure, at your man, Obama! :wavey:

I don't believe you're enough of a person to admit that Obama has failed to live up to all his pre-election hype. However, you could prove me wrong. Will you, or won't you? That is what remains to be seen!

Amazing isn't it. I wonder if these same folk criticized L. Bush when she was away from the WH? I say away from the WH because L. did not have a job and neither does M. So how can they be "on vacation."

Did you criticize L. Bush's $700 haircut?

Did you criticize her for spent more than $20 million flying the Bushes back and forth to their vacation retreat in Crawford, Texas? $20 million of tax payer dollars.

I believe it simply shows the irrational hatred of some for M and B.

If you think that is bad just let Rick Perry into the white house and see what bills he and his run up at tax payer expense.

You forgot Sarah Palin's $150,000 shopping spree at Saks during the Republican National convention.

(And yes, I know it wasn't taxpayer money.)
