If your wife and children were being held hostage by an amoral, ruthless gang of terrorist thugs and you had in your possession an individual who you knew for a fact was involved and knew their location and you are of the opinion that waterboarding and other enhanced interrogation techniques are wrong, what method or methods would you use, besides prayer, to try to get your family back safe and sound. I would like to hear from those who are against the use of waterboarding please. Those of you who are not, I already know what you would do. :)
Why do you say "besides prayer"?
Is there something more likely to get results than taking your requests before Almighty God in prayer?
Exactly what is more effective than prayer?
Or do we have more faith in violence?
Do we have more faith in the ways of the world?
Do we have more faith in repaying evil for evil, even though our Lord has commanded us not to do so?
As far as I am concerned, there would be nothing else to do "besides prayer".
If such bleeding hearts had been in charge in WWII we would have lost and lost big time. There would have been no bombing of German and Japanese cities and no nuclear bombs dropped on Japan.
Yeh, if everybody had been acting like Christians during WWII, we wouldn't have had to kill 50-60 million people.
Thank goodness we didn't have those bleeding hearts around or we wouldn't have gotten to drop a couple of A-bombs on women and children and watch them burned to death or die the painful death from radiation!!!
Wonder how many people have prayed that Bin Laden would be found?
Why haven't we found him?
Wonder how many trips to the waterboard it would take for somebody who knew where he was to spill the beans?
Maybe they are praying for the wrong thing or with wrong motives. Wonder how many people have prayed that Bin Laden be saved, and come to faith in Jesus Christ? Wonder how His conversion to Christianity would effect the current war?
So, what do you think brings more glory to God.
Bin Laden is converted to Christianity and spends the rest of his life proclaiming the gospel....or
Stopping terrorism is not about glorifying God, it's about protecting innocent people in the most successful way possible.
To do that, sometimes you have to be a realist and kick some tail.
Being a realist means waking up and realizing that bin Laden is more than likely going to try to coordinate attacks to kill some westerners before one of his Islamic jihadist buddies converts him into a gospel preaching Christian who will turn himself in.
The most successful way possible to keep this from happening is to send our special forces guys after him.
He's not going to change until his brains are splattered against a cave wall.
Pacifists are baffling and dangerous to the safety and sovereignty of the United States. They would sell us out in a minute as they roll over and allow our enemies to destroy us in the name of peace as they cling to their bumper sticker that says, "Would Jesus Drop a Bomb?"
Believing that the United States and its citizens should be held to a higher standard than murderous thugs is not pacifism.
We are better than this.
We do not need to torture.
The ends never justify the means.
Equating water boarding with murderous thugs shows a lack of understanding or agreement of what really constitutes torture. Who has died while being water boarded? The terrorist may think he is going to die, but that's the whole point. Again, pacifists will be the down fall of our country.
I would put bamboo shivers under their finger nails, than I would attach leads to them and the opposite leads to a car battery. If the didn't work thier digits would start disappearing. Is that enough yet? :)
