We're told over and over that muslims are peaceful and are ok, and here we go, full of hate of everyone not muslim, either kill or support killing unbelievers, as their holy book commands them too. they couldn't be good muslims otherwise. And we're expected to beleive they are peaceful.

Most Muslims do not commit acts of violence.

Most Christians do not commit acts of violence.

Most Jews do not commit acts of violence even though the portion of the Bible they believe in commands them to kill all non-Jews within the borders of the ancient land of Canaan. Are they not good Jews beacause they don't do so?

I reject such thinking toward both Jews and Muslims. It is sad to see Christians, who should know better, engage in such prejudice.

Only the blind or the foolish don't understand that the Bible is often prejudice. After all, there is only one way to heaven, through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.

    (from link in OP)

This mosque is only 3 miles or so from where I live, which makes this whole situation even more real to me.

Whether Hasan was merely inspired by Awlaki or had deeper ties to him, it is becoming clearer that Hasan did this shooting deliberately because he thought it was wrong for him to fight against fellow Muslims. He even said this several times.

However, the military and U.S. government may whitewash this case and try to make Hasan's actions look like the result of post-traumatic stress disorder or some kind of mental or emotional instability, even though it seems from all reports that he was perfectly in his right mind.

Theres no comparision between christians and muslims, christians are redeemed, changed, new creatures, made so by the indweeling Holy Spirit, muslims are not. Big difference.
You would do well to actually open your eyes to the real world.

The Jews were commanded not to have anything to do with the Canaanites because God hated them. They were exceedingly wicked and God hated them. Their ways were corrupting, thus God told His people not to mix with them. You'll notice that when the Jews started meddling with the corrupting religions of the Canaanites and those others that dwelt in that land they left the worship of the true and living God and got themselves in a lot of trouble. Of course, understanding the context and reasons for the commands of God in the bible isn't important at all, is it.

Christians are taught by Jesus Christ (Christians professing to be followers of Christ) both in word and deed to love their neighbors as themselves, to turn the other cheek. Jesus, when He was reviled, reviled not again. Jesus didn't tell His followers to kill or subject those that won't covert, but rather to leave judgement in the hands of God.

Muslims are taught both in word and deed of their prophet to kill, lie, cheat, steal, etc for the advancement of Islam. They are taught to kill or subject those that won't convert. That's exactly what Islam did in the old day and still does today. While some Muslims aren't violent, their book teaches them otherwise, as well as their example, Mohammed.

It's not about what people do, it's about what they are taught by their religious teachings. Jews and Christians aren't taught to seek any means for the advancement of their religions, but are rather taught that there are moral absolutes that God expects them to keep. Muslims are taught the end justifies the means and that they can break the rules as long as they do so for Islam. When a Christian are Jew commits a horrible act of violence, they are in violation of their religious commandments. When a Muslim commits a horrible act of violence, he/she is being obedient. That's a huge difference and it is one that people just refuse to grasp.

Perhaps this guy should be tried for a hate crime. After all, it was probably his preaching against the infidels that stirred the killers to murder innocent people.

The left can't have it both ways. If we're going to have "hate crimes" they must include everyone, not just white Christians.

The Dar al Hijrah Islamic Center in Falls Church should be investigated. Any such organization should be investigated.

By definition, it wasn't a terrorist act, since it was a single person acting alone. Since he is military, this should be handled by the military.

That would be legally difficult to do unless it can be proved beyond a reasonable doubt that
he worked with a foreign terrorist group. Also, for treason there have to be at least 2 eyewitnesses to the same overt act or a confession in open court, as well as prove that he was working with a terrorist group.

Yeah, I know it will never happen. My point was that we should punish these killers to the MAXIMUM extent of the law, and sometimes I feel even that is not enough. They still get off easier than their victims.

Yeah, I get where you're coming from. Some crimes are so heinous that human justice can't really compensate. Keep in mind that he will likely get the death penalty for the murder charges.

I would not rule out a terrorism charge yet. The Obama admin is currently withholding info that is being requested by the congressional oversight committee. And he has already been linked to over seas terrorists. Although that is not necessary for a terrorist charge.

I say quick and painful execution would be about right (after a miliatary tribunal). If found guilty...I say give him 5-7 days (one appeal). Then execute him.

I really do see where you're coming from. However, it's just not the way our justice system works. But overall I agree that he should be executed if convicted (there really isn't much doubt that he did it.)

I hope they do investigate it - it's only about 3 miles from where I live.
