Today, I withdrew my 1st grade son from the public school system and put him in private school. He has high functioning autism and absolutely loves Jesus so much that he gets upset when it is not his turn to pray at dinner time. His favorite book is his children's Bible and he insists on reading it every day. All this, of course, before public school.
Over the last few months I began to notice that he wasn't as insistent on prayer and did not want to read bible stories. Finally, at dinner time, he told me that he didn't want to pray. So I asked him why, the answer shocked me.
It started around Christmas time when all the kids in class were talking about Santa and Frosty the Snowman. My son told his friends that Christmas was about Jesus and began to share the Gospel. As a result, he was punished by the administrators and he was told that he was being offensive.
Eventually, the other kids in the class started picking on him because he shared Bible stories. When we talked to the school they told us, "Well, if he would just stop talking about Jesus so much then the kids will stop picking on him."
I am absolutely furious that this has happened. So I immediately withdrew him from the public school system and enrolled him into a Christian private school. My question is, "Has anyone else had similar issues with the public school system attacking your child's faith?" If so, how did you handle it?
My son was punished at school for talking about Jesus!

You have my prayers. Also, if you want your child to be a Christian keep them close to you. -

It provides you with your rights. It turns out that schools don't understand their rights either. They just want to avoid conflict. The FFRF has engaged in a kind of extortion by threatening school districts. The districts don't want to get involved in litigation because it's very expensive. The result is that the FFRF wins by default.
I would never place a child in public schools. Most are in an impossible situation. An example would be a child who is being raised by Satanist talking about Satan all the time.
There is no doubt that the world is becoming more hostile to Christians.
I'll pray for you. God bless you and your family. -

Here in Texas, it is allowed to discuss the Bible as a book of literature, sing songs of thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter as cultural lessons (if other cultural songs are also presented) and to allow students to pray at will without teacher/staff interference.
At time some stupid letter will be given to the school authorities from some opposition, but such are either ignored, or pointed to state law and policies that allow such to continue.
There is never a time or place for anyone to ridicule or even debate the merits of one religion over another. All are held with equal value.
Certainly, as a believer, I lament the standard that has to allow for equal treatment, but I figure that the Word is more effective then any other word.
Unfortunately, I can perceive the day when such tolerance will not extend to Christians, but until then ...
I wonder is the liberals ever look at the last verse of our national anthem?
All previous verses end in a question.
Not the last verse. It is a declaration of principle. -
For instance, an Islamicist [a Muslim], may say that they are praying, but their 'as-salat', actually seek after Islamic "peace" or submission of the whole world to Sharia/Islamic law, at the call of the 'adhan':
