And your facts are incorrect yet again.

But I am glad the journalists are free.

It would have been better if they had not been taken hostage in the first place. Why were they where they were when they were taken in the first place?

We don't know yet what Clinton had to do or say or agree to for them to be released.

One thing we do know is that this guarantees a repeat performance in N.Korea, Iran, Or some place else.

If all negotiations took place before he went to N Korea, then it wasn't dependant on anything he said, they just wanted clinton to visit N Korea. He wasn't allowed to say anything official for the president or the country.
I agree on the repeat, but what are we to do otherwise? Do we just abandon them?

Absolutely!

They placed themselves in harm's way for their own reasons.

That's true. Some will refuse to acknowlege Clinton's effort in the current situation based on their personal disdain for him. That's a simple prejudice.

There's nothing wrong with noting a past POTUS's transgressions. But when one ignores that POTUS's accomplishments in favor of his transgressions, that person loses objectivity. Likewise, if a person completely overlooks a POTUS's transgressions, it is just as wrong as overlooking his accomplishments.

It is not necessary to overlook Clinton's past transgressions to recognize his current accomplishment. Nixon is another example.
Granted that don’t hold Bill Clinton in very high regard but I did say he was the right man for the job.

Hillary would not have been able to get the release.
Given the little I know of the Korean culture, they would have humiliated and ignored her because she is a woman.

The North Koreans enjoyed having the former president travel and beg them for the journalists release.
It was a power move on their part.

They humiliated him once and they did it again.

We see the women’s release as a victory of justice.
They see it as a victory over U.S. power.
A way to demonstrate that they are more powerful that we are.

We're pragmatic; we think the release was the important part.
They are idealog's; the women’s release meant next to nothing to them.
The demonstration of power was the important part.

Who cares. The fact is, these women are free. NK can claim whatever they like. If push comes to shove, they can be eliminated on very little notice. I hope it never comes to that.

The North Koreans love democrat presidents. They know they can push them around and intimidate them with impunity.

They just received another in a long line of confirmations.

Now if only the US would release political prisoners we are holding.

Does anyone think Americans can accidently cross into North Korea?

Why are our spies more moral than their spies?

Ask Al Gore. He is their boss, it's his company they work for.

Now I am closing this thread since it is on page 3.
