A new
Conservative Baptist Network has been formed within the Southern Baptist Convention. Their website begins with five bullet points:
The Network affirms the longstanding Baptist beliefs as expressed in the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
The Network affirms the inerrancy, supremacy, and sufficiency of the Bible in all facets of life and application.
The Network affirms religious liberty and encourages Christian individuals and churches to influence the culture by engaging in the public policy process and demonstrating their patriotism.
The Network rejects various unbiblical ideologies currently affecting the Southern Baptist Convention such as Critical Race Theory, intersectionality, and social justice.
The Network is committed to seeing the SBC function biblically — efficiently, and strategically — believing Convention entities and leadership are accountable to and encouraged by the autonomous, local churches that cooperate together.
It also says there will be a "Launch Event" June 8, 2020.
Christian Post reports this:
Conservative Baptist Network launched amid 'woke' trend in SBC, emphasizing Scripture, evangelism Click to expand...

I hear you, but just note that, contrary to popular opinion, "Southern Baptist" is not a denomination, just a convention.

That's kinda silly if the SBC, isn't it?
Maybe we should call it a collection agency that collects money from preachers like Rick Warren since you can just buy your way in.

I can't see the videos, is there somewhere on the site that gives more written information? It doesn't really say a lot.

I thought that the Sbc had righted their ship decades ago, when leaders such as Dr stanley were elected to root out the persuasive modernist views on things such as limited inspiration/inerrancy of Bible?

Sounds like mere Americanity to me. Which one of the fruits of the Spirit produces patriotism ?
And how is social justice a bad thing? Is it not linked to the influencing of culture ?
Good grief.

I do not let Marxists define my terms. Social justice is a basic part of Christianity. Love your neighbor as yourself. I dont let Marxists or any other group co-opt such important truths. We as Christians are to be concerned about social justice.

Yes we can define our own terms. We also need to know how the guy sitting next to us is defining the same term.
