    Hey,
    I wanted to let you know about a project that has been launched to release a quality edition of the Baptist Confession which includes the Scripture proof texts. We are at a stage where we are raising funds on Kickstarter and this is an opportunity to make it happen by backing it and getting copies of the Confession and other works by Benjamin Keach in the process.

    We are not going to make an editorial change of that nature. The purpose is to release an edition that is historic and as accurate as possible.

    Thats just stupid

    In 10 yrs, they will say we need to revert back to the original in order to capture the beauty, eloquence and brilliance of the original writings of our forefathers

    I am not a 1689 only

    I eclectic enough to allow for a Methodist who preaches Calvinism a small spot in heaven (Standing Room Only)

    So do I ... but I have no shelf space for another book, so not enough to put my money where my mouth is. I'll wait for a PDF version and buy that.

    I actually have a copy of the 1689 with Scripture proofs so I don't really need this either.

    Really? What version is this as I have not heard of such a thing?
    Also, almost any edition of 1689 that has been published is not of a high publication quality.

    I am excited about the project! I've been hoping for a high quality edition ever since Banner of Truth published the Westminster Confession of Faith a few years ago. I'll be interested in 1...2...or 3 copies! :Thumbsup

    Yes, there are modern versions of the confession available. The one you link to is a good one, as is the edition published by Founders Ministries in the U.S.

    For those looking for a modern exposition of the 1689 the 5th Edition written by Sam Waldron is a good one to have handy.

    However, there is still room in the quiver for new projects like the one being undertaken by Parresia. I pray their work based in Scotland will bear much fruit.
