I am not disagreeing with your statement that we need to save souls ... but it a lot of souls are lost because the basic needs to sustain life is not available to them, and we Christians who live in abundance bear some responsibility in this regard.
Okay. You go out and feed the homeless, and I'll work on legislation against abortions; and someone else will work against gay marriage, and someone else will work on healthcare.
Should we all try to fit in the same mold, or should we expound upon the gifts which God has given us?
Crabtown for those of us living in Corinth by the Bay (aka San Francisco) , the hom*se*ual agenda is of very real interest.
We have seen the destruction it has brought to our community (e.g. the thousands who have died from s*xually transmitted diseases including H*V/A*DS).
Quote: "My generation cares more about the fact that 30,000 kids died today of hunger, poverty, preventable disease than about gay marriage amendments in California," he told ABCNews.com. "We are pro life, but for us that definition is far broader than abortion. It includes poverty, AIDS, human trafficking and the war in Iraq.""
The implication of this statement is based on an unChristian lie.
What kind of "Christian" group validates their existence by lying about other Christians?
Talk is cheap.
If they're like most liberals , Christians or no, all they do is talk, throw money at it and lecture the real doers.
Ah well....that way you get to vote for abortionists and work to soothe your conscience. The other issues do not ever justify supporting those who support the holocaust of abortion.
>"My generation cares more about the fact that 30,000 kids died today of hunger, poverty, preventable disease than about gay marriage amendments in California,"
This implies other Evangelicals in the "classical" church don't care about gay people. What about ministries reaching out to the gay community? Many churches support those ministies. Caring about them means wanting to give them the gospel -
you can do all sorts of nice stuff for people but if you don't share the gospel there is no eternal life.
Or they have no problem with gay unions:
But there's the rub - many "new evangelicals" are inclusivists so they don't think it's as important to give the gospel since people can go to heaven without knowing Christ.
Let's look at Jim Wallis. He did a conference in 2006 with Catholic priest Richard Rohr, of the Center for Action and Contemplation (CAC) which was basically interfaith. It compared Jesus with Buddha and had a presentation resource from the Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh.
Abortion is a sin.
But many of the Christian right focus on it alone and let thousands get killed in unjust wars, genocides, famines, diseases, and natural disasters.
They are destroying Christ's Church by merging "religion" and politics to such a degree that when people think about Christians they don't think about Jesus but rather the Republican party.
I pray that the Church can recover from this terrible scourge.
If you looked at the discription of the former lives of the Corinithian church members, you would see that calling it Corinth by the Bay isn't a really positive moniker.
the other difference is there are more than the minimum of just men in San Francisco.
But then as long as the righteous shun the place (some would rather encourage their children go to Lower Slobovia as missionaries than have them come to the Bay Area), there won't be much of a change.
Would you at least pray for us that God would cause a Great Awakening here?
So how does the Christian right "let" genocide, famine, diseases, and natural disasters kill thousands? Did you learn this from the Times? Or do you just make this up on your own along the way?
The jealousy of the left is born out of the dual lives they lead and the consistent lives the right leads. Of course they cry out separation of church and state when it comes to abortion and homosexuality but claim scriptural mandate for welfare. More inconsistency from the left.
1. They support the totally unjust war and the killing of thouands of innocent Iraqi people.
2. They do not protest the killing of black Christians in the Sudan by Moselms.
3. They make no protest about the horrible conditions in Zimbabwe brought on by Mugabe.
4. They make no protest of the Burmese government persecuting and killing the minority group, the Karens, the large majority of whom are Christian.
When you need to soothe your conscience for supporting candidates who support, promote, and work to fund unlimited abortion you have make up false notions at least in your own mind.
