    So now tax cuts, the single Republican talking point and the cure for all this country ails is wealth redistribution???

    He is refunding you back your own money, how can that be redistribution?

    LE, I sure hope you're talking about the bankers who got the Billions because if you think someone milked the welfare system for more than what they got then you're really fear mongering... Trust me, no one is getting rich on welfare and they certainly don't get millions in bonuses.

    A lot of people are fooled by these scams!

    The "rebates" are not in proportion to what was paid - they will be much less - and what was paid was not in proportion to what was earned - that was much more. The only people that make out with the "rebate" scam are the ones who didn't pay much to start with. The same is true of the other "credits" and "deductions". Therefore, it all is nothing more than wealth redistribution implemented coming and going.

    Real tax reduction means less taxation up front and it requires a lot less spending for government foolishness.

    I lived in West Alabama, where welfare abuse/fraud was rampant, so this is firsthand knowledge.

    Are you saying that "hey, as long as you just steal a little bit, it's OK?

    Methinks you'll have a hard time reconciling that with Scripture.

    No, what I am saying is we're spending too much time and effort worried about the pennies and nickels that fall between the cracks but fail to see or address the big dollars being sucked out the door. I know to scripture stealing is stealing but if this was a wounded patient, I would suggest stopping the major bleeding before you get concerned about the minor cuts and scratches.

    We gave bankers lump some payments totaling more than the entire welfare program.

    Not to mention but the ill-fortuned "bailout" (which I'm against) is a one-time plan; welfare is annual.
