While Sen. Barack Obama’s presidential campaign has produced a television ad criticizing Sen. John McCain’s position on equal pay for women and pointing out that women in America are paid only 77 cents on the dollar compared to men, Obama pays his own female Senate staffers, on average, only 78 percent of what he pays male staffers.
Women on McCain’s staff, meanwhile, earn 24 percent more on average than women on Obama’s Senate staff. McCain also pays his female Senate staff members a higher average salary than his male Senate staff members.

Obama pays women less - and it gets worse.
"First, one has to ask why Obama has 64 non-intern staffers while McCain has 46. Obama doesn’t chair any committees, and the subcommittee he chairs has not exactly had a prodigious output. The difference in salaries comes to almost a million dollars a year. What exactly is the value that taxpayers have received for this extra assistance? Obama has a negligible legislative record for his three years in the Senate, and has spent most of the last two years running for President, as has McCain, who managed to get by with much less."

Is this an example of how Obama plans to govern as President?
Wasting the taxpayers money and exploiting women at the same time? -
Senator McCain has one staffer for every 137,403 residents.
The Big O only has 1 staffer for every---- 99,043 residents.
I would also assume that Obama may have more district offices than McCain has.
Info came from this link using 2007 stats -
How about let's use square miles.
Arizona is 114,006 and Illinois is 57,918 square miles.
Based on that McCain's staff should be twice the size of Obama's.
Makes just as much sense. -
Obama repesents about twice as many people that McCain does
Me thinks I make a little bit more sense -
Not. -

By one measure, however, women did do better in Obama's office than in McCain's. When the average salary was calculated for all people on the office payroll, including interns, Clinton paid women an average of $51,948, Obama paid women an average of $48,729, and McCain paid women an average of $47,898. -
You missed this paragraph...
"After excluding interns and adjusting the pay for employees who didn't work in the office for the entire six months, the average pay for the 30 women on McCain's staff was $59,104.51. "
The report indicated that Obama had only one paid intern during the period, who was a male.
In other words - after you take out the part timers and the college students we are left with:
McCain paying full time women staff an average of $59,105
Clinton paying full time women staff an average of $48,729
And Obama with the bargain basement wages of $47,898
That translates into 19% lower wages paid on average to women by Obama than McCain. -
How about black staffers. What about Hispanics? Do all of these people have the same qualifications and do the same jobs?

Off topic............... -
Chase your rabbit down another hole. -
Do we know the education, experience and duties of each individual (both male and female so we can compare)?
Also, these are average salaries. He could have had a part time intern being paid minimum wage which would throw the entire figure off.
Or for that matter a highly qualified male... -

Very reasonable questions. Although if the shoe was on McCain's foot libs would not be asking them. -
Until then, for the purposes of this discussion, it doesn't matter. -

But if you're really interested, then find out and tell us.
If you don't want to do that, we'll know you really don't care and are trying to get us to chase your red herring for you.
I'll be looking forward to hearing back from you on this.
It's a fair and interesting question...if you're serious. Which I doubt.
