A very silly post. The presidential inauguration is a secular ceremony.

 

Then why have an invocation and benediction and pledge an oath on a Bible or perhaps other religious book (still waiting to see about the Quran)?

 

None of those things is prescribed by the U.S. constitution.

The Koran silliness is a right-wing talking point that is really, really silly. We already know that he will use a Bible of Lincoln's.

Actually, I'm a little surprised that, apparently, there will not be prayers by a rabbi and an imam somewhere in the ceremonies in the interest of fairness. I know it will set off howling by some here on the BB. But I am a little surprised.

Ya know, I am surprised as you are since Obama was supported by so many Jewish voters. I can say we are not aware of all the festivities and I think he must have put a Rabbi on program somewhere... Perhaps the McCain dinner or something...

 

I sure hope the Lord works with this Bishop's heart because he is leading others on his path to death by making them feel this behavior is acceptable to Christ. I don't know how anyone who truly studies scripture can confuse the Christian position on h@m@sexuality.

Please don't misunderstand my post, many Christians sin even if it's one in our minds. I just don't see how you can be proud of sin then encourage others to do likewise.

The article presents, at best, a mixed picture of Mattson. It appears that she has great references from both Republicans and Democrats. However, I realize that deception is always a possibility. Time will tell.
