2008 Democratic Convention at Invesco Field in Denver(CNSNews.com) – In his speech Thursday to accept the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination, Barack Obama said it was possible to find common ground on culturally divisive issues such as abortion, guns, same-sex marriage and immigration.
But while he spoke briefly and in general terms about those issues, his campaign Web site and his own political history shows that Obama’s positions on those issues are distinctly left-wing and leave little room for compromise.

I think that Senator Obama is sincere in wanting to work toward common goals in these areas - such as reducing unplanned pregnancies and ending discrimination based on sexual orientation.

Obam is no more sincere about unity than the ones who claim he is.

Abortion is not the answer to unplanned pregnancies. This doesnt need explanation.
And I support discrimination based on sexual orientation. Let me explain. If a person owns a business, say he owns a store here in the south. He should have the right to hire whomever he wants, so that the image of the store fits the demographic of the area. Many, many folks here in the south, especially christians, will avoid buying from the store that has a flaming gay man at the cash register. I would not want a flaming gay representing me or my business to the public.
Why should that store owner have to hire someone that lives a lifestyle that the storeowner believes is wicked? And why should the storeowner have to hire someone that a large part of the population would avoid, and cost him money?
Let the gays be gay if they want to, but dont force their lifestyle on me or our culture. Obama wants to cram this wickedness down our throats.

2) We have laws against racial discrimination and gender discrimination in this country? Why? Because a person is born with a skin color and a gender. Likewise, everyone is born with a sexual orientation and most people act sexually based on that orientation. Therefore, homosexuals should be protected from discrimination to same extent that it is done for race and gender. -
I believe that "orientation" is an excuse for a lifestyle choice, and not a birth defect like you and many others believe.
The Bible says that homosexuality is an abomination, and I dont believe God creates abominations. People make the choice to become abominations, so dont blame it on God.

He owns the store then he should be able to hire and fire anyone he wants for his own reasons. The government should not dictate how a person operates their own personal private enterprise.
How do you think a white store clerk would fare in Harlem? What sense would it make to hire a white person for that position?

It matters not how people think they are born to justify their ungodly behavior. God said do not do it. Period.

I agree, Pastor Mitchell. Just because we are all natural born sinners does not justify our sinning.

But Christ will return and those cast into the lake of fire will surely "flame" then.
Those who persistently and willfully commit homosexual acts will be toward the head of the line. -
