My late husband caught the seven-foot-long rattlesnake in our front yard when we lived in Florida.
I have the snakeskin mounted on a board with pictures of him holding the snake before we 'skinned' it.
It had been in the basement, but Brent wanted it hung on his wall, so...

I have been attacked by a rattler here, and I have to say, it's not a fun experience! Thank the Lord it didn't get me, especially with my health issues. I've eaten rattle snake, and to me, it wasn't bad. But, then neither were the frog legs I used to eat at the Tremont Auto Auction back in the 70's and 80's! I have a creek just up the road from the house and have considered going frog gigging. Anyone want to come join me? ;)
-
Frog gigging - I haven't done that for 45 years!
There is just something about eating food, that jumps around in the skillet when I'm cooking it, that I can't handle!

Well this old Codger has had a busy morning! No children so it was 'out and about' doing odd things hubby had asked me to do and a manicure too. It was time to remove the old nails and put on new so that took 2 hours total.
Then we had a nice lunch. I made baked potatoes and steamed veggies. Carrots, broccoli, snow peas, green beans, bean sprouts and garlic. YUM. It was just Nick and myself but it's fun to have a nice lunch when there's no little ones to complain 'I don't LIKE that food'. LOL
Time for a nap! LOL -
That's when you tell them, if they don't eat 'that food', their lips will fall off. They will believe you if you don't crack a smile.

LOL, Gib! Our son said Jack won't even TOUCH a vegetable now. I gave him some tricks I used on the kids so hope it helps.
I took a 2 hour nap yesterday and was in bed before Monk came on last night. I DID see it all but was dozing already. If Scooter didn't need a 'potty call', I'd still be asleep. I'm not adjust well to having to stay up each morning. Ty comes between 5:30 and 6:00 and Matthew gets here at 7:30 - 7:45. Since he's an infant, I shower and get my bed made before he comes. I walk the dog after Ty comes and then lie down for about 45 mins. but usually don't doze but 15 or 20 mins. before the clock goes off again. No more late nights for ME!
Jim's first appointment is at 10:00 about 12 miles from here and unless he gets called, that's it for the day. He's going to cut the back yard and I'm cleaning carpets. I did the formal living room last night and will do our bedroom and hallway today. Not sure WHEN I can do the t.v. room. Probably just before bed one night since it's the most used room of the house.
Nick has disovered Neopets and plays on MY computer constantly. I don't 'get it' but he's missing having Kelsey around to play with and Ty is only here 4 days a week. All the neighborhood kids are bus riders except for one family that transports to another county. Those kids go home with grandma! He was still playing when we went to bed at 10:00. Fine with me. I no longer have any place to be online.
Have a great day everyone!

Good morning Diane! Looks kinda cloudy over here...perhaps the storm will dump a few drops on our parched land. Praying you'll have a happy day! ~Romans 8:28

Neopets!!!! Precious played there a lot till this summer. Son was just talking about setting up his own account. He wants to know who Nick is over there. I told him I'd ask and you could PM me the info.
Just tell Nick to watch out about clicking on links people post on there. Precious got infected with a virus from one of them. Not fun as it was one that was smart enough to shut down the entire computer when you tried to run Spybot or Adaware. We decided it wasn't from the Neopet site itself, but from some link posted within it. -
I watched Monk with Cheryl Friday night and don't see the pull. He's slightly funny, but I just wanted to slap him, hard.
-
I'll agree, Gib. That wasn't one of his better episodes.
Everytime I straighten a picture, Brent calls me, MRS. Monk. -
My niece is here and she does that. She has laid out all our stuffed animals and covered each with a towel for a nap. They are laid out all in a straight line. She stood at the end of the hallway to look at them and clapped in approval.

Gib
She's my kind of girl! How old is she? -
She be 4 in October. She's driving her momma crazy.
-
Awww, but that's such a CUTE age!
-
Yikes! She'll be 3 in October
