America knows who put us here. FDR & LBJ. I can't wait for the debates. I may not have my guy in, but I look forward to watching Obama & Biden get absolutely crushed in the debates & general election, as much as Ken used to look forward to the opposite.

I love the CATO folks.
Yup, the seeds for this mess were sewn in 1932, and if you think this is bad, just wait for the Medicare & Social security nightmares that are most assuredly coming. I expect that a lot of folks who look to Uncle Sam for food, clothing, & shelter, (food stamps, welfare & section 8 housing) will get awful cold, hungry & wet. -
[off topic] I like Palin as a Republican and were she at the top off the ticket I'd vote Republican. She stands for freedom as much as any mainstream politican does. Libertarian feminist Katherine Mangu-Ward likes her quite a bit for these reasons.[/off topic]
*apoligies to carpro for the unrealted blurb -
2. Bush has his hands on the wheel.
3. If those programs are that bad an idea why haven't any of the republican presidents done anything about the? -
That begs the obvious question of why didn't the democrats?
But we already have the answer. They were too busy forcing lenders to take bad loans they didn't want in the first place. -
John McCain - Wrong for America. If there was any doubt the meltdown in the financial markets today removed it. -
Why? The Democrats are in control of Congress, did you forget?

The Democrats have controlled the Congress for 1.5 years. How many years have the Republicans controlled the White House? How many years did the Republicans control the Congress. This economic mess isn't the result of the past 1.5 years. No, it is the result of 7.5 years of Republican incompetence in the White House and the Congress.

This mess is a direct result of those who want to move this country to a socialist/communist state. Moving money from the states to the federal level only to reduce it for paychecks and then returning it to the states with rules attached. The most inefficient way of handling money. Both Republicans and Democrats are responsible. The Dems want more and more federal control which is unconstitutional and contrary to what this country was founded on. The republicans buy into more and more programs as a means to get votes and not be painted by the libs as mean and uncaring. This poor management and ridiculous spending spree has gone on far to long and no one is clear of it. When the neocons move back to foundational conservatism, states rights, and constitutional government then this country will be back on track.
What we need is more community organizers and less representatives in congress. Do you really want to address greed, hunger, sexual perversion, and poverty? Get government out of the way. -
When Bill Clinton helped the Republicans take control of both Houses in 1996 their hands were still tied b/c of Slick Willie having veto power.
Now i will admit that from 2000 to 2006 the GOP having control of both Houses and the White House should have led to more reforms and losing in 2006 proved that.
So there you go...6 years in over 50 that the GOP could have done something; where as the dems had the vast majority of that time to change things and didn't. And they claim to be the party of "change"? Why now when they had ample opportunities before?
