I find this very interesting. He's quite vocal recently with his run-in last week and has been on the news and all over the internet with his complaints.
I just saw this on his wife's blog and found him to be very hostile. Is this a godly response to the law? The most recent issue was apparently not his first run-in with border patrol. I wonder if he's on a watch list or something?

there are certain rules and laws to crossing the border, when you cross you are bound by those laws. this man seems to not care about law, his behavior was quite hostile, which should not be. but what else do we expect from sanderson.
-
The only border Mr. Anderson crossed was the border between California and Arizona. Last time I knew, both California and Arizona were part of the United States of America. The 'drug check point' was 75 miles away from the Mexico-USofA border.
BTW, I am totally against giving Mr. Anderson a bully pulpit for links to his filthy sermons and the smutty replies of the enemies he collects like a pile of dog stuff collects flys. I hope this post is deleted. -
Wow. Are we in Russia?
If Mr. Anderson had done anything illegal, he would not have been allowed to leave. The fact that they let him go is proof they are searching vehicles illegally. Most people just don't know their constitutional rights. -
However, refusing to open the window to speak and ignoring their instruction to show them his ID is VERY hostile and as the officer said, varies from the norm and sets him up for further investigation. Why not just open the window, give them your ID and be friendly? Why start out with hostility?
-
Please tell me where there is a consitutional right to refuse a search when an officer has probable cause? Sorry, you can't do it, because it doesn't exist. -
As much as you may dislike Mr. Anderson, he had every right to do what he did. It was law enforcement that was in error.
There is nothing wrong with demanding our rights as U.S. citizens. -
I can't believe you actually want the government to conduct illegal searches. Doesn't the government already have enough control of our lives without violating our constitutional rights? -
-
A check point is legal within 100 miles of the border.. if you don't like the law, work to change it.
He is a big baby.. IF there was nothing there.. he should have submitted to the authorities... That is the biblical path. -
Here is the 4th amendment:
Amendment 4 - Search and Seizure. Ratified 12/15/1791.
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

This amendment is in place to protect the citizens of this country from unlawful search and seizure.
If you believe that God has blessed this country and in His sovereignty brought it into power, then you also must believe that He put these laws into our constitution to protect citizens from tyranny of government control. It is not ungodly to stand for your rights. -
If the police come to your church and demand that you burn all your Bibles will you comply? -
What is outside the legal limits to have him roll down his window so they could communicate (remember, his windows are tinted so they cannot see inside really well) and to ask for his ID?
-
I think if this had happened to anyone other than Mr. Anderson, let's say TinyTim, whom you respect, you would have a totally different response.
If we don't stand for our constitutional rights, we WILL lose them. -
-
Oh - and if he rolled down the window, why couldn't we hear what the border control guards were saying? He opened it barely a crack.
-
I'll ask you again. Why did they let him go? -

This is really sad. Regardless if the police were right or wrong. This guy is a a "pastor" and should set a good testimony by submitting to authorities. If you search youtube, you will see he has a history of video taping police and harassing them. Honestly I think that he is addicted to attention. He needs prayer.
