I typically buy myself a something every year, whether it's flowers delivered, a chocolate bar, or whatever. I'm feeling especially loving this year though, and would like to outdo myself.
My friends here can help! I'm going to come up with a list of choices, and you help me choose what I should do this Valentine's Day! :love2:

What? No jewelry? LOL
I think you should order Chinese, and buy roses and chocolates. -
You must have written that whilst I was still reading, Gwen. I think the same as you do .............. "the works !!!"
PS don`t forget the diamonds ;)
Like the L`Oreal ad. " Because you`re worth it ". -
I don't like jewelry, it makes my skin feel all creepy to have stuff fastened around my arm or all cold and hard around my finger or hanging off my neck. BLECK! I will wear stud earrings, but I always lose the backs so don't usually bother with those either.
Not your typical female here... -
What? No all of the above?

I voted the 'works' because I know you! LOL
What I would give you isn't on there.

Looks like ordering Chinese and picking up flowers and chocolates is winning! I won't argue, even though it DOES mean going out in -30 weather. Maybe it will be warmer by then, but it's chocolate so foo on weather...chocolate is always worth it!

I almost picked ask a guy out, but I would be very picky.

I know this thread is geared toward women, but come on, guys like getting Valentine's stuff too. Personally, I wouldn't mind if a woman asked me out on a date.
Usually if there is someone I am head over heels for, generally I plan on getting stuff for the girl I am crazy about. Which generally is a rose (or roses), a Valentine's card, a box of chocolates, more Valentine's candy, & me asking her on a date.
Most of the time, I normally get responses like, "Awwwww, that's so sweet" or "I just want to be friends" or even "Maybe (about a date)." It worked in high school most of the time, but since then, it hasn't worked. I haven't had one successful Valentine's Day since my senior year (1996). I've just about given up on Valentine's Day altogether. -
Bossman, it's not geared towards women! Anyone can post or give input.
It's all about the chocolate. I mean...Valentine's gifts, and men are 50% of it all.
Well, at least they used to be. Who knows now. The numbers could be skewed with all the weirdness, but still...
You haven't had a date since 1996?! That's a long time. Maybe you should buy yourself one this year.
Try it! You get exactly what you want every time. LOL It's also empowering. I'm not sure how, but it always makes me feel good. -
I haven't had what I consider a serious date since then. I have taken female friends to the movies, out to dinner, or even to play a few rounds of pool. However, there was nothing serious. Latley, its just been too much work & not enough play. -
I voted for you to ask a guy out for two reasons.
1. You put please don't so I had to.
2. 20 years ago (sometime this month) Jeanne asked me out. It worked for her it could work for you.

You're such a brat Bill! :tongue3:
But TOO BAD! The flowers and chocolate and Chinese won out. hehe -
Well, I might suggest a Valentine's Day date for BigBossman and Gina L, personally, complete with the chocolates, roses and the egg rolls, wonton or egg drop soup and roast duck, in place of the sweet and sour chicken. (Hey- Valentine's Day only occurs once a year, after all!)
BigBossman doesn't have to buy any date, and Gina L's expectations might even be exceeded.
Besides, AK and AL are fairly close, aren't they?? :)

I voted "Ask a guy out". I figured that down deep you probably had someone in mind or you wouldn't have listed it here. We just need to give you a loving push so you have a genuine reason to "have" to go through with it. Have fun!

Boss is too young! Can't have someone younger boss me around. You have to be at least 45 years old to do that, and the bossing has to occur prior to 2009.
-
Its good to have standards.
That's the first time someone has accused me of being too young. Of course, I have made my age public, so its not a mystery. I strike most people I meet as being older. I guess its how I carry myself. -
and me. (Pretty close to the implied 14 years, in your post, here.)
And there is no 'bossing' in view, with us.
She usually lets me have her way.
And I usually let her have my way.
That's worked pretty good for ten years come May 6, 2009.

Several years ago I made a point of getting a card and chocolate for madre. The car was nice and sappy - one of those... oh what's her name... reminds me of a shotgun... Remington? Browning! That's it! ...
Anyway, I give madre the card and she is appropriately moved by my simple gesture. I was hoping so. That card set me back nearly $3! The chocolate was a solid 1 POUND Hershey Kiss. I'm figuring that the mother lode of chocolate was the express lane to madre's heart.... I was wrong. Unlike her tearful reception of the card, madre was overcome by.... well I don't know what!
She opens the Kiss and stares at it. Then she jumps up, slams it down on the table and screams, "Don't you think I'm fat enough?!" She slammed the door so hard as she stomped out of the room that the National Geological Survey called to ask if we were having an earthquake. No earthquake. Just a meltdown.
We don't do Valentine's Day at padre's house.
