I wonder if it had to go through the Bermuda Triangle. Not that I believe that myth, I'm just curious.

Nor do I believe many of the myths about this area. but likely the route could have crossed or at least neared the Eastern extremities of this area.

However, from the report, it does not appear that they are searching this area, for the place where contact was lost with this flight is more than a thousand miles short of this locale.

I heard that just before they lost radar contact the pilot radioed that they were hitting turbulence.

There is a phenomena known as 'clear air turbulence' and it can be extremely dangerous. I do not now if this is what they hit or not.

No, too far South.
In my job, I travel extensively. It's when something like this happens that you really thank Almighty God for His Divine Protection.......

Baptist in Richmond is correct in that Flight 447 was at least 1000 miles south of the latitude of the Bermuda Triangle, when last heard from and from where the debris has been spotted, although the route would have eventually reached this latitude.

My own earlier assertion that the route would have likely eventually crossed the eastern extremities of the Bermuda Triangle was in error, as I had not looked at a map or globe, but was relying on my own memories of the 'lay of the land', so to speak. The map shows that, in fact, the route would have been far to the east of this area by some 2000 miles, with the planned route actually passing somewhat to the east of Cape Verde, and over the Canary Islands, according to the map, and fairly close to the western tip of Africa.

Let's all remember and pray for the families affected, here,

Ed
