    Is that why it clearly doesn't say that. I believe John called this adding to scripture.

    Most of the Christians I know, frankly, are either Arminian or at least "not calvinist," as they say ... but that in no way means they aren't saved, or that I think they aren't.

    Why do you insist that people who believe the way that John Calvin believed are followers of men?

    If you and I had the same Christian beliefs, would I be a follower of you or vice versa?

    He can't argue the facts from scripture so he takes cheap shots at anyone who disagrees with him. Anyone who disagrees with his 2nd grade "theology" is a man follower, but he, of course, is the only "mature" believer and perfect follower of God. If you believe that I have a bridge in Brooklyn you might want to buy.

    When our Administrator Barnabas said almost the exact same thing you didn't attack him for these words. Why attack Mike?

    But Barnabas DOESN'T say the same thing. He leaves out the insinuation that those who fall into a Calvinist or Arminian category are following men rather than Christ.

    BTW, if Calvinists are followers of Calvin, how come every Calvinist on this board would disagree with a whole bunch of stuff that Calvin thought?

    And how come, if Arminians are followers of Arminius, every Arminian I've ever met (and I'm talking those who will claim the lable) would disagree with a whole bunch of stuff that Arminius thought?

    James 2:1 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons. 2 For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment; 3 And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool: 4 Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?

    This scripture could be used to point out that we should not value the opinion of a man in a leadership position more than a mere board member.

    Cassidy;
    Like I told you before you accuse me of what you yourself are most guilty of.
    Your just up set because you can't convince anyone of the false doctrines you preach. I'm so glad my Salvation doesn't depend on people like you and Calvin. Man has come a long way spiritually in the last 400 years not because of Calvin but because of the availability of the scriptures. Other wise we would all still be dependant on men like you.

    Hi Herenow;
    Because Calvin's thoughts were very obviously not his own, but those of Augustine. Calvin was a Catholic and atemptted to reform the Catholic faith. By using what he knew of Augustine's example.

    Rom 15:20 Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation:

    This is what Calvin did he built upon Augustines foundation. And all Calvinist follow the same trail. Some claim to have come to the same conclusions as did Auguistine through the scriptures, but we all know that is impossible. Simply because none of you have ever walked in Augustines shoes. Nor did you really know Him.

    Well to a person who really wants honest debate or to share the truth it should at least make you carefull of labels you install on people.
