By top news story, do you mean what we believe was the most important topic to us, or the topic which was covered the most by the media?

I made my decision according to what the most important one to me was..."The Katrina Disaster and its aftermath!"

I would have to concur. Katrina wins by a landslide.

Given everything else, the Schiavo saga is basically irrelevant.

Not by me...but Katrina affected alot more lives, that should NOT have been lost!

I think once "Congress" got a hold of the possible political benefits and stuck their nose in it, people have had a tendency to kind of put that tragic situation on the back burner...leave it to our "elected" leaders to mess this up to!

Had to go with 2 things that directly affected me.

    Katrina and Gas Prices.

And 1 that changed 200 years worth of law in this country and makes us look even more like the USSR.

    The Eminent Domain case.

Its not irrelevant to everyone. I havent forgotten. I saw a 10 year old arrested for trespassing trying to give her a glass of water.

In the Katrina aftermath, I saw Sean Penn almost sink a boat filled with PR people trying to 'save' someone.
