The only way I would vote for a woman is if the other candidate were one of these new leftist radical Democrat's like Hillary or Schumer, Biden and the like. But I would not enjoy voting.
-
You didn't put a choice for me in there, LE. I am a political conservative and would vote for a woman for president regardless of her party or lack of party affiliation.
-
Well, good grief - I really tried to be inclusive, LOL. So, did you vote, Ken?
-
I couldn't vote. You tied the candidates to parties.
-
I am a conservative independent and would vote for a conservative, pro-life woman no matter what her party or lack of same if she were the best candidate running, so I had to vote "not going to vote."
-
Way too complex. Question should be:
I would vote for a woman pres.
I would not vote for a woman pres. -
I am a conservative and am not sure. I don't know if I could put an emotional, irrational woman in charge of the military...that would probably be worse than putting Kerry in charge and the military might never recover. :D

God help us all if she has PMS or is menopausal. It will be the end of the planet as we know it.

Joseph's and LadyEagle's posts here are extremely and grotesquely offensive to me....but then again, if you disagree with me, just label me as emotional, irrational, suffering from PMS or menopausal. Take your pick. I don't care.
It never ceases to amaze me at both men and women who think that women are incompetent because of our bodily functions and/or a willingness to express emotions or God forbid, an opinion.
What about the men in the White House who were emotional and irrational and lead by their hormones....to the point where one of them had whores in the White House swimming pool and flew to Hollywood with his brother-in-law for various "hormonal" retreats (JFK) and the other, (Bill), conducting business on the telephone in the oval office with a woman on the floor under his desk and with her face between his legs?
Yeah, those two guys were REAL rational...and their hormones didn't affect them not one single tiny bit!
I won't change anyone's mind on this, but claiming that a woman's body and hormone make-up would cause her to be incompetent as a leader is just about the most stupidest thing that I have heard on this Baptist Board since I have been here in 2002.
This "undercurrent" of unhealthy attitudes towards women absolutely permeates this entire board and it bothers me greatly.
There is NO end on this board to "can women wear pants?", "can women have a job", "must they blindly obey husbands", "are they too stupid to be president?", "can they use birth control?", "can they voice an opinion in church?", "can they leave a husband who is abusing them?".......
It makes me sick to know that there are a host of Christian men and women who think so little of women. I see it all the time when I come here. All the blasted time.
And now, we have decreed that women, because of their bodies' natural design for childbirth, are automatically disqualified to lead, while we, as a nation, exalt male leaders despite the fact that many of them are not in control of THEIR own bodies' natural design for procreation.
Hypocrital, illogical.....how about irrational?
I've got to take a hiatus from the BB for while. Maybe I am just not the conservative that I think I am.
I don't necessarily WANT a woman for president. I know that I do NOT want Hillary Clinton. But not because of her hormones and female bodily functions. I don't agree with some of her beliefs, both personally nor politically.
But if a woman came along who was qualified, I would consider her.
I'm tired of defending women every other post that I write.
I'm just tired of it. And that doesn't make me irrational or suffering from PMS nor menopausal.
Peace and love you-

Then stop defending them. ;)
You can be offended all you want, but in my life experience, I have met very few women who were competent leaders and didn't allow their emotions to get in the way of making rational, logical decisions. If, by chance, I happen to meet one, however, I will happily vote for her. But, to be honest, she is gong to have to do a lot of proving to me that she understands that the military is not mommy's social experiment to tame the savage beasts in the military and that her maternal instincts won't kick in when the death toll starts coming in, and she won't cave under the pressure. Yes, in all fairness, there have been some horrible male presidents in the past: Clinton, Carter, and Bush 1 being at the top of my list on that. But the reality is that men and women are different emotionally, and that women are more prone to being irrational and emotional when the pressure is turned up than men are.

I am glad you have met some. Maybe some of them will move close to where I am and impress me with their leadership skills someday. Thus far, this has been extremely rare in my experience. I have yet to meet a woman I would want to be the commander in chief of the military.
Joseph Botwinick -
Somehow, Joseph, I doubt that all of the competent women leaders are in south central Arkansas. I think your prejudice is showing, my friend.

1 Corinthians 2:15-16 -
Yep. And in this case the perception by non-Christians is correct and such attitudes by Christians toward women are a reproach to the body of Christ.

So there.
2) We aren't planning on her running for president. We are planning on drafting her to run for president.
