I must confess: I am considering purchasing my first "premium " Bible.
I have never owned a premium Bible, and this is the very first time I've thought to do so.
I also must say I know absolutely nothing about what's out there, which companies publish them, etc.
Therefore, in an effort to save myself a lot of time (and possible grief and/or regret), I thought I might as well ask for your feedback and/or advice here on the message board.
I'm assuming many of you have a great deal of knowledge, and firsthand experience pertaining to this matter.
Thank you in advance for your much needed (and greatly appreciated) assistance!
P.S. In the event that it makes any difference, I'm seeking a premium Bible in either the NIV or NLT translation. Thank you again.

A few questions:
What format do you want (single column, double column, references, no references, study notes, no study notes).
How big do you want it to be?
Do you know anything about the different types of leather? (Genuine, Calf-Skin, Goat-Skin, etc). -

I will say the two translations you selected actually limit your options in the premium Bible category. There are more to choose from in the ESV, NAS, and KJV categories. -

It can be achieved with other translations. For example the ESV has EXACTLY your specifications Crossway ESV Heirloom Legacy Bible (Goatskin, Black) - evangelicalbible.com lol -

Cambridge NASB Clarion Reference Bible, Black Goatskin - evangelicalbible.com
Cambridge NASB Clarion Reference Bible, Brown Calfskin - evangelicalbible.com
Cambridge NASB Clarion Reference Bible, Black Calf Split - evangelicalbible.com
Lockman NASB Side-Column Wide Margin Reference Bible, Black Calfskin - evangelicalbible.com (This one is a BRICK)
Personally, I have the Clarion in ESV and love it. It is a nice personal size and the references aren't very distracting. -

John 6:47.
KJV, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life."
NKJV, '“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me* has everlasting life.'
*footnote: NU-Text omits in Me.
NASB, '“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life.'
NIV, "Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life."
NLT, '¶“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes has eternal life.'
There are other verses to compare. I suggest the online blueletterbible.org. -
