"There is no "Palin predicament" for Southern Baptists or Evangelicals" an interesting read by Richard Land of SBC:

I have no problem with women being in positions of secular authority.

At the moment you only have my opposition to Governor Palin to go by.

This is just one example of why I am IFB and not SBC. When we started dividing the Word of God into spiritual teachings and secular execeptions we end up leaving God out of a large part of our lives. Whatever principles the Bible teaches apply to all parts of our lives, whether it be the church, our homes, our place of business/employment, or government.
I like Palin, but I think God put men in charge for good reasons. The first one that I can think of is because of some of the decisions that a president has to make at times. Like Truman dropping the bomb on Japan, Lincoln allowing Sherman to run rampant thru the south killing women and children and burning ungaurded farms to the ground., or even Bush making the decision to allow the hanging of Hussein.
I am not sure that women, as a whole, were intended by God to do some of the dirtier jobs that being a president entails.
But I will vote for McCain/Palin. I just wish it was McCain and another man.

This is simply Land tap-dancing to the Republicans' tune. And some of his comments about the meaning of parts of the BF&M are side-splittingly hilarious.
