Conservative columnist Mona Charen has published an article on Townhall about the death of Reaganism.
She defines Reaganism as a three-legged stool of strong defense, small government, and conservatism on social issues.
Is there any debate that the American people have turned their backs on those three principles?

Reagan's policies were the beginning of the death of the American middle class.

It is the Democrats who believe that government is god and should be big, and you know it very well, Crabtown because you believe in big government and liberalism in social issues, not to mention liberalism in religious issues. And I don't recall your ever standing for strong defense. -
But in order to finalize the spending of the money, the bill must be signed by the POTUS (short of an override). Problem is that so much money is put into bills that have nothing to do with the basic bill.
For example - on a military spending bill - a congressman includes a 10 grand addition to build a park in his home district. -

1. Between Ike and W, no GOP president had a GOP congress.
2. Democrats are opposed to the line-item veto.
3. Reagan could have vetoed the omnibus spending bills but it would have shut down the government.
4. Reagan never favored the Democrat spending bills but the Supreme Court said that when Congress ordered money spent, the money had to be spent.
5. Reaganism is dead as a) people do not favor a strong defense but now have a weaker military than during Hitler's buildup; b) people do not favor a small government but actually think that government is a god; and c) people do not favor conservative moral values but support the liberal agenda on moral issues--actually, Hoosiers like former Gov. Mitch Daniels believe that the GOP should ignore moral issues.
