That's right "KJV-onlyism" doesn't even exist, except in the dilluded minds of those opposed to the King James Bible! </font>[/QUOTE]IZZATSO?
There are some who think the KJV is the only valid English BV, which is wrong. There people are KJVOs, an acronym for their doctrine. We know they have no official org, but they are a group of people united in a common cause, while we who know better seek to lead them from their error, and just as importantly, seek to alert others to their error so they won't fall for it.

Robycop,
Nicely put!
By the way, where outside Chesapeake,OH are you? I just moved from Huntington,WV to Milton. -
Weekly Broadcast, The King James Bible Believer's Broadcast.
Witness everywhere I go.
Regular participation in the Gainesville City Baptist Rescue Mission.
Hand out Gospel tracts in Wal-mart and Home Depot regularly. Against their will, but by supervisory permission
Posting Gosple tracs in well accessible palces in public view.
pray daily, usually without ceasing.
Love the Lord with all my being.
Study as much as I possibly can in the KJB and multitudes of related sources, none MV, BTW. (wastes too much time)
Counsel with married and soon to be married couples, only from the Bible and by Bible Christians testimonies. As well as anyone and everyone who stands in need, but not limited to those who have yet to ask, but definitely in need.
Teach SS every Sunday, placing importance on being a True Disciple of Christ, along with opening service.
Give God the glory everyday for even being able to breath His clean air, clean air polluted by those who manufacture and sell MV's. :D
Disciple my children along with some other people, Hmmm?
Also run a small plumbing company doing 99% of everything including taxes and labor, billing and purchasing.
Much other related things like standing up for those who believe right from wrong.
Defending God's sheep as a shepherd would against wolves in sheep's clothing, while driving goats with a staff.
Embracing truth over fallacy.
Thwarting heresy and apostacy at every glance.
Just to name a few, but only by the grace of Almighty God!~ -

Mr. Meadows, the KJVO, when his assertions are defeated, resorts to the ole ad-hominem attack because he/she cannot hope to provide anything to support the KJVO myth. That's all they can do. They just cannot bring themselves to face the truth, that the doctrine they've embraced is false. We've provided the clear, man-made origins of modern KJVO, PROVEN that their assertions are wrong, shown them EVIDENCE from both history and Scripture from the KJV itself that their doctrine is wrong, but many of them still refuse to abandon it. (The doctrine, not the KJV) But we keep on posting, to alert new believers to the falsehood of the KJVO myth.
BTW, we prolly live about 20 miles apart. I live just outside the city limits of Chesapeake OH & am a member of Vinson HS Class of '66. I played football & baseball there, was an AAU boxer, played for years in the Huntington Industrial Baseball league till it folded, played in the OVFL for 10 years(1971-80) as a FB/LB for various Cincy and Louisville teams. (Lived in Cincy till age 15) -
At least we who stand for the Word of truth are united, unified, verses uniformed and comprimised.
Our cause is preservation, not perversionism and inciting doubt, now go figure.
In case you've never realized it God preserves, makes Him a conservative, liberal in grace, perfecting liberty for His saints by these specific means. Can't say that for you. I only see your inciting divisions contrary to unity in the grace of God.
You fight an unworthy cause, one that divides more than brings peace and unity amongst believers by pushing your opinion over rational thinking. One day, by the Lord's mercy, you will see this, that is my hope and my prayer.
We have to defend what we know is right from people like you. I fail to see you defending anything, only attempts to tear down, that is quite shameful and against the command of scripture to exhort one another daily. I exhort you to the truth of God's Word, you'll find it in the pages of our King James Bible. And we shall continue to bear our cross daily in our sojourn in an unfamiliar land, over-run by distrust and unbelief, awaiting our Blessed Redeemer and the Hope of His appearing. -
BTW, you're less than 2 years older than I. I,too, am a grandparent. And I've been studying the versions issue on my own(humanly speaking) for over 20 years. -

Quickening Spirit,
OK, I'll take the gloves off...
As I said I love the KJV and though I can read Greek, Hebrew and Latin quite well and own one of nearly every "MV" I still use the KJV 99% of the time. Here's my problem:
God has promised to preserve His word.
But nowhere in the Bible do I find "King James Bible", "KJV", "AV" specifically written. As such we have no EXPLICIT scriptural mandate as to its primacy. You may choose to prefer it but you really don't have room to insist everyone else do so.
Again I welcome your response. -
Btw, again, we don't oppose the King James Bible. We oppose a faulty view of it, a view called KJV-onlyism. -

Speaking of preservation, the controversial R.L. Hymers said that some KJVO's, while thinking it's the only BV preserved, actual have "pickled" it!   Comments?

RobyCop3 said: "...we simply wish to remind you that there's a LOT more to Christianity and to God's word than what some KJVO has told you".
Granny sez~
#1:I never heard the term KJVO till I came on the BB.
#2:The Lord saved me 50yrs. ago & I simply couldn't take it if it got any better than this. -
The following statement is for all you KJVO people out there that continually insult those of us that has studied the issue and found the truth that the KJV is not the only WORD OF GOD:
(2Ti 2:15) Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
You can't stand someone that has more knowledge than you do. So you put them down. How sinful. God commanded us to STUDY! But instead you are content to stay in the mud of ignorance!!
I respect GG, and the bible tells me I should respect her as much as I do my mother. My mom reads from the KJV. She read it to me when I was young. I remember though that when she came to a word that she didn't know, she just skipped it. When I grew up I pointed out to her she was wrong. That being said, GG you are wrong in believing KJVO falsehoods. I'll never *attack* the KJV because I'm not going to stoop as low as all the sinners on this board that holds to a false doctrine of Bible Idolatry. I beleive the KJV is the Word of God. I use it everyday. But I'm not about to place it in the place I hold JESUS!!
That WOULD BE SIN. By the way, What do you KJVO people do when you don't have a dictionary handy? Do you just skip the word and figure it's not important, or expect the Bible to clear itself up? That also is Sin. Remember STUDY. There are too many people here that should be ashamed of their "lack of Knowledge" AKA IGNORANCE. -
There's some real ugliness going on right here on this board. I'm gonna get out my whompin' stick and lash y'all a few times wit' it. :D
Romans 3 says that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. That means he loved us when we did not love him. There was nothing we could do or can do now to ensure our salvation, any good work we do is only because God had mercy on us. Let us show a little grace to our brothers and sisters in Christ. We boast about being smarter than the other side, we boast about being more correct than the other side. If anyone has come closer to the Lord in any way in the bible versions issue, it is only because God was working on them.
Paul asks, "Where then is boasting?" It is excluded. Let's show a little humility and grace in our postings, shall we. It's a debate forum. Let's debate.

Bro Tim, while I agree with you regarding the gist of your post, ya might wanna tone it down a wee bit. I am anti-KJVO (not anti-KJV) like you and I feel passionate on this topic as I believe that KJVO is a man made tradition, and as Roby says, "myth". Former Catholics are usually the most vocal anti-Catholics from my experience, and former KJVO's seem most vocal anti-KJVO for obvious reasons as well. Have I mistaken your post? Some (except one)of the KJVO's have tone down their posts...proceed w/ caution. ;)
