Matthew 24 speaks to the coming tribulation period.
Events today were absolutely not prophesied, as we're in the mystery age.
Paul talks about some of todays events in IITim.3
Quote from the Temple Mount Faithful link given by freedom cause elsewhere:
"The redemption of Israel which started in 1948 with the establishment of the state of Israel is the greatest event in the history of mankind. One day all the world will understand that the rebirth of the people of Israel in the promised land is a clear indication that we are living in the prophetic end-times."
Most Christians erroneously think the same way.
The redemption of Israel will not occur until Jesus returns to set his earthly kingdom. The regathering of His people since 1948 is not the rebirth of Israel according to many OT prophecies, instead Israel's reestablishment is the fulfillment of the fig tree sprouting in Mt. 24 and Zep. 2:1-2; Eze. 38:8.
The "end-times" are not occuring during the Church Age, they will during the "time of the end" or Tribulation prophesied by Daniel, 11:35, 40; 12:1,9).
Spent last night in my truck down on Lake Herman Rd. just east of Benicia, near the mothballed fleet in the bay.
I was thinking that you lived or worked in that vicinity.
There is a small church's youth group that meets in one of the industrial buildings there.
Grabbed my Bible one time about 4 mo. ago and headed in, before realizing it was just youth group.
They checked me out pretty good.
