Sorry Ken, you are a fellow Arkansan, and I love all Hog fans......
But you are trying to straddle the fence on these issues, and from a biblical standpoint I dont understand that.
God says we are for or against Him, never says to be nuetral.
In fact, in Revelation Jesus says that he would rather us to be either hot or cold than to be lukewarm.
He said that He would spew the lukewarm church from His mouth.....(I dont wish to be vomitted up by the Lord).
Anyway, we as christians need to take a stand on social and moral issues, because once we pass laws to enact ungodly things, it is hard to reverse them.
These issues could damage our country for generations to come.
I am a federalist.
I don't want the federal government dictating to the states, just as I don't want a hierarchy dictating to individual Baptist churches.
And I can see your point but look at what God says about govenment.
I am no fan of big govenment but I also realize that as an American the foundation of our laws came from the Bible.
When we compare unfair taxes or other government actions with the protection of what is most cherished by Christians, God's moral laws then we have simply made legal that which God called immoral.
Look, anyone is welcome to attempt to vote in a theocracy in the United States. I and others are just as welcome to work against voting in a theocracy in the United States.
With all due respect pastor, I don't really care what you think about who I vote for.
I don't answer to you or to your sense of what my vote entails.
As of now, I plan to vote for Obama.
This can change, but I doubt it.
I do know that I will not vote for McCain or any other republican this time around.
It IS true, if you are referring to AIDS as what it is - a worldwide epidemic. It may or may not be the case in the US, but it is most certainly the case for the entire planet.
Regards,
BiR
BTW, Bro. Curtis - I trust that all is well with you and yours.
I am still praying for you twice daily.
I am referring to a UPI report dated Feb 19, 1988, that has Koop, testifying under oath, that only 4% of worldwide AIDS cases were from heterosexual contact, and most of those were partners of IV drug users. I can't find it online, but I know it exists, I and others have referenced it several times, and have yet to be sued.
Remember when Koop thought the best way to combat AIDS was to teach kindergarten kids the details of gay sex ?
I don't have a high opinion of that man, so I better bow out.
You are chosing to vote for murdering live birth babies, and legalized gay marriages, for a man who claims homosexuality is not immoral.
Throw out those christian standards we are supose to build our lives around.
