:applause: Sen Mourdock should encourage Ken to stand for his seat - he puts it so much better.

It is amazing so many Republican candidates are so lacking in understanding how such comments work against them, and how unnecessary the comments are and should not be made.
When a person is attempting to win votes from society at large they should not make comments that potentially will insult or incense at least 50% of the voters ... if not more. -

But I suppose you could be another crabby. Liberals will be liberals. -

This fellow still seems to have no idea why his words have raised such irate responses and how he has hurt other candidates. It seems Rev. also does not understand. -
Have Obama's lies about the killings in Libya hurt the election chances of all the other Democrats running for office?
(I hope so.) -

But, since you mentioned it, here's another 'selective observation'. -

The topic is how can a person be so blind as not to know that this statement will harm his chances of being elected and also harm others in his party? -
A life that starts as a result of rape is EVIL.
Seriously libs are so deficient in reading comprehension and critical thinking skills it is a wonder that they find their way to the voting booth.
How is it that they manage overcome that particular form of voter suppression? -

God never allows awful things to happen ? Seems I read in Job that God gives permission to Satan to work his evil.
The way you are trying to change the subject is pretty funny, though. -

There is no way to say something like this, and be sure the libbies won't lie about it, twist it, and edit it to show that people who believe life begins at conception are intolerant.
I agree with his statement. -

The problem is not what he said. The problem is what everyone is telling us he meant. If we are only to say things that nobody can lie about, twist, or take out of context, then people are going to be mighty quiet.
From the reactions on this thread, I see "the conservatives" are still going to be more concerned about what people might say about them, than doing the work America needs them to do.
Shudder. -

Yes, but as a lawyer I am well aware that I am in a walk of life where I have to be very careful with my words. Politics is another such walk of life.
I think that the conservatives ought to be concerned about whether people are going to vote for them so they can do the necessary work in the first place. -

Evil people will always twist your words. Satan tries to twist God's words. Take them out of context. Lie about what he meant. Should God have been more careful when he spoke ?

God's not up for election next month (deo gratias!).
-
I think Mourdock's being taken out of context here, but at the same time it does illustrate the need for thinking before speaking. It isn't good for the Republican Party to be associated with "legitimate rape" and "God-intended rape".

Precisely; in addition, there's much with which you can get away when you're not just up for election that you can't when you are.

Nice dodge.
