Our local state House Representative race has exposed an apparent rift in the Pro-Life movement in Texas that I was not aware of. The Texas Alliance for Life PAC calls our incumbent a "Pro-Life Champion," while Texas Right to Life is supporting the challenger. The incumbent's vote to table an amendment (offered by Representative Matt Schaefer, R-Tyler) that was supported by Texas Right to Life, to close a loophole in current Pro-Life laws that allows unborn children with disabilities to be aborted after 20 weeks of development. This motion to table killed Schaefer's amendment, and was interpreted as opposition to life. Anyone familiar with this?
