His latest comments are born out of the WoF heresy that says if you are good enough, God will give you your hearts desire, like our own little personal genie, and if you are bad, God is gonna kill you. You know the heresy: Do you wanna be blessed? Say the right prayers, don't give up the land of Israel, and make sure you are a good little boy and girl. And most important of all, forget about the grace of God. It is pretty much the same heresy Job's friends tried to shove on him, that the disciples tried to explain the blind man. It is no wonder those who follow Pat's WoF heresy believe every bad event is the judgment of God.

    Of course it does.

Does that mean you believe God inflicted Ariel Sharon with a stroke because he sinned by advocating the turnover of Gaza to the Palestinians?

That is, after all, what Robertson implied and you seem to agree with him.

God didn't inflict Sharon with a stroke. Sharon's own sinful human condition did. It was the result of a combination of being overweight, being elderly, and being in a stressful profession.

That wouldn't be possible as there was no sin involved in that action.

    Joel.3
[2] I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.
[19] Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence against the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land.

Already happened, LE. The Israelites returned from Babylon long, long ago - in case you hadn't heard.

Also, Antiochus spoiled Egypt and the Maccabees made Edom desolate.

When did Egypt become desolate, and Edom (Jordan) become a wilderness?

That is not the same as Egypt being desolate and Jordan becoming a wilderness, Ken.

And when did all nations gather together in the Valley of Jehosaphat? Clearly, this is a prophecy to be fulfilled, judgment of Gentile nations.

As "Jehosophat" means the "judgment of Jehovah" this is a reference to the judgment of God on those nations that took advantage of Israel's weakness while it was in rebellion towards God, which resulted in the Babylonian Captivity.

Why, thank you for enlightening me, Fundamentalist1611. I appreciate your thought-provoking insight.

    Regards from a LIBERAL,
    BiR

P.S. What is the reason for the "1611" in your name, by the way?

I am embarrassed to admit that he is here in the Commonwealth. Not exactly one of our better exports.....

Warm regards to you out there in the Mile High City. Headed your way in a few weeks. Hope there will still be some snow left for me!!

The southern kingdom of Judah was in Babylonian captivity, Ken, not the whole nation of Israel.

Substitute Assyria for Babylonia when considering the northern kingdom, LE.

    Lady Eagle,

    You said, 'Joel.3
[2] I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.'

    .

So would Pat consider US VP Dick Cheny heart troubles and recent trip to the hospital retribution from God?
