As Paul said RE: being unequally yoked with unbelievers:
1 Corinthians 5:10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.
And then "Where we place ourselves under the control of unbelievers instead of Christ".
1 Peter 2
13 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;
14 Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.

Perhaps others may comment for themselves as well. -

e.g.
If you go to a grocery store owned by an unbeliever you "yoke" yourself to him/her when you purchase something and subsequently pay for the commodity.
In that exchange you put your stamp of approval upon the merchant's value system because the profit she/he receives from your momentary settlement he/she uses to sustain and promote his/her godless lifestyle. -

We do have a general principal of avoiding offense to the brother/sister in particular the babes in Christ.
Of course we each will answer for the "X/Y Coordinates" of that line and offenses thereby at the Bema seat (Deeds done in the body). -
God's word tells us that the powers that be do not bear the sword in vain, but are there to maintain order in society and that to resist or refuse to serve is to resist or refuse to serve God.
Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
I served proudly in the US Army for many, many years. I was a minister of God to contain the spread of Godless communism.
I am a disabled vet as a result of that service and praise God for the opportunity He gave me to serve honorably and faithfully as His minister for good.
Those who resist such service resist the God who ordains such service. -

What does the Bible say about Protecting The Helpless?
Psalm 82:3-4 Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.”
Proverbs 31:8-9 Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy.
Isaiah 1:17 Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause.
Proverbs 24:11-12 Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, “Behold, we did not know this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will he not repay man according to his work? -

You just can't help it, can you? Your own self-righteousness has convinced you that you are holier than anyone. Even holier than God. His word is meaningless when it contradicts your anti-scripture denial of what He has to say on the subject. :)
