1. Which political opponets have been suppressed by our government? Have Moveon.org, Lew Rockwell, or the Democratic Underground been shut down and jailed yet? Really, Dr. Bob, what in the world are you talking about? If anyone has been raked over the coals by the government in the past 4 1/2 years, it has been supporters of the president in big business. You know: Enron, Arthur Anderson, Jack Abramoff, Scooter Libby? Which anti-Bush groups, outside of Al Quaeda and the Taliban have been suppressed? Are you sure you have really thought this through?
2. I wonder what you think we should do with unlawful enemy combatants who, BTW, want to kill you and destroy your way of life? If our government was even close to being as oppressive as you seem to think they are, you would have been either locked up or shot for speaking out against the president by now. So would I. I am a bit surprised that you actually posted this and expected this to be a serious conversation. There are so many differences between the Bush administration and Nazi Germany, it borders on lunacy that you even made the comparison. Here are a list of a few differences that make all the difference in the world:
* Freedom of the Press
* Freedom of Speech
* The Legistlative and Juducial Branch as checks and balances
* Freedom to Emigrate
Tell me, did Poncho hack into your account and start posting as you? What happened Dr. Bob? Normally, you really think through what you post and make sense. Today, you post silly conspiracy theories that are so far from reality that it really is a wonder why anyone would take it seriously.
3. Dr. Bob,
Which one of your civil liberties have been suspended? Do you not still freely speak out against your government? Oh wait...you just did that here. Ok, I guess it is not that. Are you not able to freely leave the nation? Can you not still go down to Crawford and protest this "illegal" war? What in the world are you ranting about?
4. If the good moral Catholics (?) and Lutherans were scared by something, perhaps they were lacking in faith. I don't know. It is not, however, a message of fear that I have personally heard from the Bush administration. I have heard the message of liberation, justice, and that we are winning and will win the war on terror. Perhaps, you would rather we try the appeasement, peace in our time route of Chamberlain and Lindbergh, but I will pass. It is those who claim we are losing and that it is a lost cause who continually try to scare the public with words like quagmire and draft. I am beginning to think that maybe your post was a bit misdirected.
