Where is the scripture to prove KJVOism?
Also does this apply to the KJV according to KJVO dogma?
Rev. 22:18,” For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:” 1769 KJV
Daniel 3:15 ,” the midst of a fiery furnace” AV1611
Daniel 3:15,” the midst of a burning fiery furnace” Current KJV
1 Timothy 1:4,” rather than edifying” AV1611
1 Timothy 1:4,” rather than godly edifying” Current KJV
*notice that the AV1611 was added to.
Also does this apply to the KJV?
Rev. 22:19,”And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” 1769 KJV
Exodus 23:13,”names” AV1611
Exodus 23:13,”name” Current KJV
2 Kings 11:10,” in the temple.” AV1611
2 Kings 11:10,” in the temple of the LORD.” Current KJV
It seems to me that we could apply this to the KJVO myth and asks the question,” which KJV is the true KJV?” What happened to things that are different are not the same?
It just makes me wonder how many changes are acceptable in KJVOism. Also I have yet to find a single KJV that will explain to me why the AV1611 was abandoned for the 1762/1769 KJV. What is so special about the 1762/1769 KJV? Could I not suggest that Blayney inserted things into the AV1611?
Clearly the AV1611 and current KJV do not line up 100%. One KJV must be pure while the other contains errors. The first AV had the Books of the Apocrypha and these books where referenced by the AV translators in the OT and NT.
Daniel 8:25 - 2 Macc. 6:9
Matthew 6:7 - Ecclus. 7:16
Matthew 23:37 - Wisd. 2:15,16,"
Matthew 27:43 - 4 Esd. 1:30,"
Luke 14:13 - Tob. 4:7
Clearly one KJV is in error. Will any KJVOist care to tell me if I can trust EVERY word contained in the AV1611 and why. Can I trust everything contained in the AV1611? Can I pick up an AV1611 and study it from cover to cover with full confidence that every word is of God? Can I apply KJVOism to the AV1611? Why should I trust the current KJV when it differs from the first KJV which is the AV1611?
I’m not trying to start a flame war. These are some of the questions that I have asked several KJVOist since I left the KJVO Camp.

Scripture support for KJVOism and KJVO dogma

Why shouldn't you trust the KJV? Or any over version for that matter?

Welcome to the board David.
As a recovering KJVO myself, I greatly appreciated your testimony on your website. My family and I spent 4 years in a KJVO church. We left because God used the gospels to show me what the true message of Jesus is: love and compassion; not pride, arrogance, and judgementalism. Like you, we have been rediculed and shunned by some of our former "brothers and sisters" in Christ.
Unfortunately, you know as well as I that trying to have a logical debate with a hardened KJVO is futile at best.
I posted an article on the following thread that details the KJVO belief that the KJB was purified 7 times from the 1611 to the 1769.
http://www.baptistboard.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/4/1553.html?
I would probably just sit back and let the KJVO's wallow in their own mire if I didn't consider it to be such a divisive and destructive issue, especially for new Christians.

BTW, excellent choice on favorite Bible verse. Kinda says it all about KJVO doesn't it?
Colossians 2:6-8 NIV
Freedom From Human Regulations Through Life With Christ
6 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, 7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
8 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.
Thanks for the blessing.

Blessed by your testimony David. It is an encouragement to see that people can separate from error when presented with the truth.
Welcome. -

Mt 2:15 (KJV1769):
And was there until the death of Herod:
that it might be fulfilled which
was spoken of the Lord by the prophet,
saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.
In another thread a person who talks like a
KJBO, reads like a KJBO, acts like a KJBO,
but denies she is a KJBO says there is no
difference between the LIVING WORD OF GOD:
Messiah Jesus and the WRITTEN WORD OF
GOD: the Holy Bible. Therefore the
Alexandrian line(s) of Bible(s)/Jesus
is THE LINE, ACCORDING TO SCRIPTURE.
Now if we could just find an MV that
was PURE Alexandrian and not
a KJV/Alexandrian crossbreed - tee hee

Hey Ed,
I posted something very similar to what you said on the "Questions From A KJV-Onlyist" thread and got a typical KJVO response as you can see.

Anti-Alexandrian:Yes,right nice website;best propaganda from the Alexandrian "sect" I've seen in a good while;Obi Wan has taught you well!!!
Seems like Obi Wan knew more than the whole KJVO crowd!
Can YOU provide any Scriptural support for the KJVO myth? We've provided the MAN-MADE origins for it; where's the SCRIPTURE????????????? -
robycop3. Obi Wan and his special revelation must have been helpful in 1611, AA.

The farce was with them.

"Yes,right nice website;best propaganda from the Alexandrian "sect" I've seen in a good while;Obi Wan has taught you well!!!"
LOL, hey Obi Wan was on the good side of the force. You ever stop to think that you are quoting Darth Vader? Darth was a member of the Dark Side. I had much rather be taught by Obi Wan that Darth LOL......
Lets avoid these types of comments and get down to answering my questions. I have gotten these types of answers from KJVO's since I left KJVOism
Show me some scripture and explain to me why the first AV1611 is not being used today. Show me in full context with tangible facts why I should become a KJVO again. What is doctrine without scripture to back it up?

Welcome aboard David,
As we all know ALL of the works of men are flawed and the AV 1611 was no exception.
To the chagrin of the KJVO and the credit of the KJV Translation Committee, (and those who filled their inevitable gaps) they were dilligent, faithful and unashamed to heed the warning of Revelation 22:18-19 correcting mistakes of translation, typos, etc, as they saw them.
While we might not agree concerning the use of Elizabethan-Jacobean period English for the 21st century reader, we can probably all agree that the KJV of the Bible has glorified God as perhaps none other translation.

It's also funny (at least to me) that many KJVO's quote satan more than Jesus when defending the KJV.
-
If it is the Word of God (and I believe it is)
then why defend it? As Spurgeon said (paraphrased) It's like a lion just let it loose.
HankD -
I was hoping that some KJVO would respond to my questions with scripture and evidence to answer my questions. I guess that the KJVOist on this board are just like all the others that I have talked with over the years. I'm not trying to be a judge or anything like that. This is just my observation.
This really saddens me. Many KJVOist are always ready to attack MV etc... but when hard questions that deserve answers are asked about the AV1611 and it's history, a strange silence falls upon the KJVO Camp.
If you can not defend doctrine with scripture then how do you know it's really doctrine?
I'm not trying to be hateful. I'm just want my questions answered without the stall tactics and KJVO word games.
In Christ,

Welcome, David. You've just repeated the $64,000 question. It is unanswerable because it is "extra-biblical". Simple as that.

When your faith is is your own belief and your own belief is in your faith its hard to have any proof beyong yourself.
