A little arrogance is the "swagger" that a nation of prominence needs. American should be proud to have "pep n their step." The truth is, maybe we, as Americans are a little arrogant at times, but, we're also very giving, caring, kind, loving, and always the first to respond to any nations' natural or man made disaster.
Without America, this world would be chaotic and clumsy, something like a horse without a head.
Maybe we have been dismissive, and a little derisive. But, it's well within the boundaries of celebrating our blood bought victories over the tyrants of World Wars I and II. America paid the price with the life's of the men and women in uniform, men and women who earned the right to be "just a little 'cocky'". After all, we are the only nation to place a man on the moon; aggressively attack the AIDS virus in Africa; and send peacekeepers and manpower, and supplies to every place where nature flexed it's destructive power. We lead the world in providing money, grants, loans, medical supplies, food, equipment, training, etc. to whomever needs our help.
Obama, when he appeared on Jay Leno, commented how proud and exciting it was for him to fly on Air Force 1. How proud it felt within himself to wear that Air Force 1 blazer with the Presidential patch. It seems to me that Barrack holds in his hands a crate load of personal pride, cockiness, and arrogance for the office he holds. So why is he "badmouthing" America to our European brothers and sisters? Has he not yet looked in the mirror in his WH bedroom?
This nation does not need to be beaten down anymore than we've been beaten down with our present day economic crisis. The economy has torn a huge hole in our national fabric; rising unemployment has torn away at Americas personal pride of being the number one nation in production of goods. We don't need a narcissistic President apologizing on our behalf for holding unto the things that helped to make Americans develop a deep sense of patriotism, and that is national pride [dismissive] and personal/national bias [derisiveness].
I am proud to be an American, and I will not stand by and allow this "wimpy-wimpy" President apologize to the world for my national pride and patriotism.
Arrogant, yes; but held in check but national humility! Dismissive, yes, but ready to give the shirt off my back to help my neighbors around the world! Derisive, yes; but, not so derisive that I forget that in the end, we're all created in the image of our Father in Heaven!
Maybe, just maybe....Americans are growing less excited with Obama, and more embarrassed....I can only hope. STILL, he does not speak for me, and I'm sure he does not speak for the majority of Americans when he "Grovels" before the world and apologizes for our past actions and attitudes. We earned the right to be a tad-bit arrogant, underscored by national pride.
I think the world thinks less of America today, now that Obama has shown himself to be timid and pathetic and totally lacking a spine, as he "groveled" at the NATO meeting yesterday!!!

The man has been groveling at the global elite's feet for thirty years now why should today be any different? He's a good groveler too apparently else wise they'd have never let him become their latest puppet president.

An excellent OP Pastor Paul whether JC agrees or not.
-
More ridiculous baloney. Today at the press conference in France, the President spoke of his pride in America and what she has accomplished and her leadership position in the world.
-
MP you are as blind as JC. In fact our government is now composed of the blind leading the blind. -

I just don't like liars. He's been caught in enough now that even the loyalest of the Obamanites should be stumbling over the rotten fruit that falls from this tree. Face it the democrats have bought a trojan horse named Obama just the same as the republicans bought one named Bush. Besides all that Obama has already shown he's completely at ease in saying one thing then doing another.
Several times. -
I don't know you MP so I can't say I dislike you. However, I see little to nothing in your posts that I like or agree with, just like JC. -
>Converting the country I love into a Socialist or Fascist state, possibly with a Civilian Security Force [Gestapo?]
If you don't think this happened long before you were born, then how will you know when it happens? What will be the changes in your new daily life? -

Basically, the only differences are:
1 The Rs are considerably more genteel, gracious and civilized in the process, whereas the Ds are doing it in "bar-room brawl" fashion, and
2 The Rs are doing it at a gentle pace whereas the Ds are driving us over the precipice "wide-open throttle"!
Same end result, just different methods! -

It will doubtless suprise some here to say I have some sympathy with the OP although I don't agree with all of it. Suffice it to say that it's gone down well here that Obama's apologised. He also rightly called us Europeans on our anti-Americanism over the last eight years and it's time we grew up and apologised for that too. Then both sides of the Atlantic can move on with our relationship on a better footing.

You must be writing all these ridiculous posts on purpose.
"The tool for Socialism/fascism was the passage of the 16th amendment giving the Federal government power to tax income."
