In another thread the subject is about 2 members of Gideons International being arrested for handing out Bibles on a public sidewalk near a school, even though the article says they complied with a police officer’s order to leave. This poll is not about that case in particular, but of our responsibility to share the gospel and society’s responsibility to protect children from unwelcome influences, and worse things than that.

Our responsibility is to share the gospel, not break laws or violate a child's (or adult's) right to reject, or accept, that gospel.
Our job is to plant seeds. Some would say we are doing wrong, but I prefer to listen to what God has to say on the subject... -
The Bible says, 'Go out into the highways and compel them...'
The word 'compel' denotes pressure or force. We need to be bold in the faith. If we deny Christ before man, Christ said He will deny us before His Father.
That should challenge the hearts of each and every one who calls himself or herself a Christian. Do you witness to your unsaved loved ones? To the lost in your community? at work? at school?
Or do you say nothing for fear of being rejected by them and possibly fear being ostracized?
There is a choice we must make... proclaim Christ and be rejected by some, or keep our tongues and be rejected of Christ.
Paul said in Acts 5:
'We ought to obey God rather than man' -

The best way to share the Gospel with anyone, regardless of age, is to live it. And then, because your character should be so different from that of others in their world, you are commanded, biblically, to be ready to answer for your faith -- because they WILL be asking questions.
To do something, such as having a Bible study at a party and the parents not be told ahead, is to teach disrepect for the parents, and that is NOT biblical!
As far as going out onto the highways and compelling them, children are under the authority of their parents and if we do not respect that, the children will never learn to respect authority -- including God.
Start a Bible study in your backyard -- that's fine. Let parents know as well as the children. I know that as a Christian mother, though, I would not have wanted my children to go, because I would have had NO idea of what they were being taught there, and there is a lot of crazy nonsense parading around calling itself "Christian."
When I was homeschooling, and then when we registered with the state as an actual private school (ended up having so many students I had to hire other teachers), the parents KNEW that Bible would be read everyday and the passages discussed. We read a full chapter or two a day, out loud, and thus the whole Bible was covered in a couple of years. Then we would start again. There were a lot of discussions, and the parents knew about it and approved it.
Several of my children's other friends had parents who were not Christian and, actually, some of them challenged me on my beliefs. They at least ended up respecting me and still allowed their children to play at our house. That was very important for the sake of the children.
Let Christ live His life in and through you, and then be ready to answer questions. That is effective with all ages. -
I agree with Helen, the best way for somebody to see Jesus in you is to live a Christian life.

we have more responsability then to just live it, we must verbally tell others.
-
I'll even take it further... we have more responsibility than just putting a Bible in their hand.. we have to tell them about Christ.

If you talk the talk without walking the walk, you are quickly exposed as a hypocrite and have put the name of Christ to shame.
WHO you are is what people will see far more than hearing any words you say. -
