I am following the Bible in bringing this to the body.
I asked the leaders and got no response so I ask you, should a member who posted personal information on the board about you and was banned be allowed to return to the board?
I think if this person is let back on, out of Christian love & forgiveness, a public apology to the offended party should be made with a promise to be Christ like toward that offended member as part of their agreement for bcoming back on.
So am I over reacting, or being human? I know I am a mere guest here like all of you, but I was the victim of vicious verbal attacks leading up to the event banning them. I am disappointed in the decision, but will live with it if the body sees nothing wrong with this. Should I be banned for this so be it...I am concerned with negative behavior and BULLIES on the board operating under the name of debating.
Should banned members be allowed back?

So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

While I believe that public sins against another warrant a public apology, the offended's forgiveness ought not be dependent upon it if he/she is a child of Our Lord.
Besides, the most sincere apology is the one not asked for. -

OP,
your post is conflicted. You say "if" he's allowed back on the board, but then that you're disappointed with the decision as if it's been decided already.
I can't see the point in having the guy crawl thru broken glass and grovel in public. Also, there's something I've learned about promises.
You know the best way to keep from breaking a promise? Don't make any.
What if you browbeat this guy into promising to do better, then he ends up doing the same thing again? Now you'll accuse him of being a liar, too, when it never should have been demanded that he promise it in the first place.
And bullies? Really? Love your enemies, and pray for them. Isn't that what Jesus said?
I don't see any evidence that Jesus hurled "bully" at any of his persecutors. -
Another chance is in line IMO.

The motives of this thread seem to be questionable and really about the OP once again trying to get a "pat on the back" for taking the high road after, according to his posting style, attempts to verbally and "intellectually" bully others himself.
Public apology? Pure foolishness. He just wants the board to see that he had to put the banned poster in his place.
Repentant people give public apologies because THEY want to not because they are forced to.
This has got to be one of the most asinine OPs I think I've ever read.
This whole thread seems akin to gossip just so that folks can know that the OP took actions to get someone banned.
The OP has established a pattern of behavior that shows a penchant for instigating just so that the "facaded" highroad can then be attempted to be taken in public.
It's the same MO every time and is akin to the witchcraft of that manipulative Jezebel spirit he recently mentioned in another thread.
This entire thread needs to be deleted because it's an attempt to feed a need for group affirmation from the cool kids in school. -
The motives of this thread are clear and are about the flesh and not about reconciling with a Brother/Sister. -
