All you good constitutionalists want the president to violate the constitution?
-
2. - thus to ensure there is no misunderstanding, we need to amend the Constitution
or if Congress would just pass a law that would end all financial benefits to illegals -
I think we should amend the constitution. I have no problem with legal immigration, and I thought we should probably expand it. However, the anchor baby issue is not helpful.

I am not a constitutional lawyer, but I believe some changes need to be made.
As I understand it, under current laws, a baby born in the USA is automatically a US citizen, and possibly will have dual citizenship based on the citizenship of the parent(s). I think this should continue. However, I do not understand how the mother is treated. I believe the ILLEGAL parents should NOT be given automatic citizenship in the USA. It is a gray area (IMHO) as to whether they should be allowed to stay in the USA to raise their child.
I believe that only LEGAL immigrants should be allowed to become US citizens. If they have a child while ILLEGAL immigrants, the child should be granted citizenship upon request after attaining adulthood. The parents would NOT receive citizenship, but could be given temporary permits, for the purpose of making their move back to their own country easier. In addition, I believe there should NOT be a penalty to their possible citizenship IF they then LEGALLY apply for citizenship of the USA.

It's a misinterpretation of the 14th Amendment. -

Rich mothers from around the world come to this country to have their babies, then go home. When the kid matures all the benefits of the USA are available. Many of these mothers are from China according to the news recently.

Courts need to clear up the constitution's meaning. -
We need a few million more Chinese people in the US.
-
Yes, I hope they move in next to you. Maybe you can show them down to the local union hall.

You didn't have "No, it is a functional law."
