gotta back mine up a bit or I'd never get to sleep on Sunday night!

3:00 - 5:15....but here's my question. How is it we can go Monday through Saturday and not need a nap, but on Sunday, when admittedly we rise later than usual (for most folks), do nothing but sit in a pew (for the most part) and yet we need a Sunday afternoon nap?

Not my pastor's sermon, mind you. It was good. But that Sunday lunch....zzzzz -

*yawn* *stretch*
Well, I have to be at church on Sunday mornings at 8:30 for band rehearsal, the SS, then the service. I don't get home until 12:00. Then, generally (starting 6 months ago), I have to be back at 2:30-4:00 for band rehearsal. We had a reprieve today! HA!
Then Sunday night Bible study, then church. I get home on Sunday nights about 8:30.
My Sundays are definitely not a day of rest. :tonofbricks: But it sort of was today. Gotta fly out the door!! -
I've decided that God put something in the air to make us tired on Sundays. LOL
Today was the first day I could really relax. So after church, we had lunch and then I crashed on the couch. I slept from around 2-4:30 and then I read until it was time to fix dinner. Tonight was the first time I cooked since Easter! I've had meals brought over since Lauren came home so I've had it easy. I have one more meal coming tomorrow and then I'm done and back on duty. But for now, I'm going to settle back on the couch and finish my book then maybe haul my tired butt to bed. LOL -

Mr. Churchill slept for 20 minutes every day at noon....exactly 20 minutes.
Cheers,

Depending on the sport, I am asleep for laps 20-100 in NASCAR, and the 2nd quarter in the NFL.
I am not sure it's true but the rumor around Tennessee Temple when I was there (78-81) that Dr. Roberson used to go home, eat lunch, change into his pajamas and sleep for 90 minutes each afternoon. Now that I'm 60, I'm thinking that makes alot of sense! -
I bought a CD which was supposed to teach one to "power nap." Didn't work for me. IF I was still working I would see if a hypnotist could teach me to put myself out for a half hour.

When I am able, I go to church at 9:15 for rehearsals, 10 AM Sunday School, 11 Am worship.
Lunch at 1
My hubby and I both nap from approx 2-3:30
rehearsals at 4:15 and 5, church at 6. back home by 7:30 PM
Busy day, and I love it! -
There is nobody (not even my 90-year-old mother-in-law) in my church that does that. There are so many tasks to be shared, though I admit that because we meet in hired premises, there are extra jobs to be done, such as putting the seating out, arranging the bookstall.
Even if you don't have a specific task, surely we should all put effort into worshipping God, not physical effort of course, but spiritual effort does result in physical tiredness. I know I feel worn out when I have preached a sermon, and I'm not a particularly "deep" preacher, nor am I physically demonstrative when preaching. -

I have just seen my post 15 again this thread, and realised that my sentence, "There is nobody ..... in my church that does that" (that is, 'does nothing but sit in a pew' on Sundays) could be taken as arrogant. I hope nobody took it that way, as that wasn't my intention.
